Moving Forward with Our Vision for Hope South Campus
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Ephesian 2:21-22
The Hope Lutheran Church Council is excited to share its visioning for Hope South Campus based on the results and feedback from the Feasibility Study phase of the Building Hope Building Campaign.
A huge “THANK YOU” to every member of the Hope Congregation at all three campuses for your support during the Feasibility Study phase. Your prayers, your thoughts, and your input through the Town Hall Meeting, cottage meetings, surveys, and discussions are greatly appreciated.
Let’s look at what will be transpiring in the near future:
1. Pastor Jon Marc MacLean and Kent Hamdorf, Congregation and Church Council President, sent via email to all members a short summary titled “Key Notes from the Feasibility Study”, dated June 11, 2022.
The findings in the Feasibility Study are very positive and indicate that Hope can enthusiastically move forward with plans for Hope South Campus and planned improvements at Hope Central Campus and Hope Lake Weir Campus. Please note that the Feasibility Study itself will be posted on Hope’s Webpage. Please read it so that you can share in the excitement and enthusiasm of the Building Hope Project.
2. Based on feedback from the members of the congregation, the following changes have been made:
-
The size of the Activity Center has been increased to a capacity of 50 people.
-
The inside of the Activity Center has been increased from 1500 sf to 2036 sf.
-
The outside porch area has been increased to 811 sf and relocated to the back of the Activity Center.
A revised building plan and new rendering will be posted on the Hope website. It is anticipated that this revised plan will soon be submitted to The Villages for approval and will then be submitted to the entire congregation for approval in September/October.
3. Based on your comments, more parking in front of the Worship Center will be provided on the overall project site plan; the Worship Center will be moved approximately 70-80 feet back to accommodate additional parking spaces in front.
4. GBS Fundraising, the firm which conducted the Feasibility Study, has been hired to run the Capital Campaign. The Soft Phase of the Campaign will start shortly, and the public phase will occur in January-March 2023. More detailed information will be forthcoming soon.
5. Hope will need many new volunteers to successfully complete the capital campaign. A Campaign Committee will be formed with a volunteer selected to be the Capital Campaign Chair. Several additional committees will be established to support the Campaign. Marketing materials will be created. As we move forward, please prayerfully consider joining, in some manner, our mission of spreading the good news of the gospel through Hope South Campus.
At recent worship services at all of Hope’s three campuses, Pentecost and Trinity Sunday were celebrated. We all have encountered and understand the empowering strength of the Holy Spirit. Let the Holy Spirit “set us on fire” as we create communities of God’s love wherever and whenever Hope’s members serve as messengers of God’s Word.
Blessings to All
