Viking 90

The 20th Viking 90 moves out of the production building in New Gretna, New Jersey – another milestone as we continue building a better boat every day in our 63rd year. Above: Before the Travelift slings are positioned, a forklift pulls the boat out on its cradle. The cradle is attached to a steel frame that rides on wheels set on rails.

From inside the production building, the stern shows the open bridge layout and the first exterior staircase (on the starboard side, with teak steps) built for a Viking 90. Each 90 takes about 10 months to complete.

Once the boat clears the building, the Travelift is ready. The crew sets the slings around the hull, lifts the boat, and rolls the cradle and frame back inside on the rails.

The starboard profile shows the open bridge, bow rail and davit. Viking premiered the 90 at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2023. Since then, 24 have been sold.

Make Ready Dock Foreman Tom Harris directs the Travelift driver. The boat is headed to the Make Ready Dock, where the team will fuel, inspect and check systems before startup and sea trials.

By the time you read this, the 90 Open will be preparing to go in the water. This one is headed for Dubai.
