Dear Church Family, 

Today, we strive harder toward unity, toward one goal, in love, faith and hope for the future. We are reminded that God is one of inclusion, and that His example through Jesus was one of listening, prayer and purpose. As such, we want to challenge ourselves and every member of our church to focus on what really matters: the purpose of the church – our mission, our calling – is to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”  Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19.  

While we may have different views on how to accomplish this, we can all agree we want to put Christ first. That loving one another and sharing the Word of God with more people is our true mission and at the heart of our church.

Our brother, Gordon Green, shares this vision for a mission-driven life, and for what the world may gain from Skillman coming together with The Hills to carry out the Great Commission at home and abroad.

It’s clear that The Hills is a church with a heart for missions that reflects our own. Here is one specific example of how our missions align. Members of The Hills are on the ground right now in Poland, providing aid, relief and hope to those devastated by the war in Ukraine.

As we remain in prayer, we look with love and are moving in faith toward a common goal that matters. The opportunity we have before us to join with The Hills enables us to share Jesus with more people, essentially creating a bigger table to which we can invite everyone. We seek to be part of something that is active, that is effective, and that is good -- clearly drawing people into His word.

Here’s what we know: Christ makes the difference. May we all pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us to strive toward greater unity in seeking and saving the lost, and to grow in our personal relationship with Him.
