The COVID-19 pandemic is illuminating the high-speed internet access “have” and “have not” situations across America. For rural America uneven access to broadband internet continues to undermine both development and quality of life. We believe broadband access will play a critical role in Pandemic Recession restart and recovery efforts. Our feature story, Broadband and Rural America, provides some insight on both the challenges of the current broadband issue along with policy actions worth considering. We make the case that universal access to broadband is foundational to the future vitality of rural communities and for that matter all communities across America.
