I have to confess I am a carbhead. So one Friday a few weeks ago I had finished my Friday 4:30 am scone, almond croissant and salted chocolate chunks and it was 6:30 and time to go to Starbucks. While I waited for coffee I googled directions to Mr. Meowski's shop way out on 94 in St. Charles. Now I know people think we have weird hours but this little bake shop is only open from 6 - 9 am T-Sat. You have got to get up early to get this bread and some of their really nice water BAGELS. I can make bread but never have done it professionally except for our brioche, which is a little sweet. It turned out that I had actually met Tim Nordmann
when he used to help his mother Lisa who was a wedding photographer. St. Louis is is little town. Anyway after eating a loaf of this delicious bread and meeting Tim who loves what he is doing, I decided I wanted to carry it at Sugaree as I know my customers would love to be able to pick up a loaf of this great bread. So Place your orders By Noon on Wednesday and get yourself a loaf. We will be having Bread & Butter & Jam to sample on Friday & Saturday.
The following is a repeat of our explanation of our new ordering policy.
At noon on Wednesday I make my production list for for Friday & Saturday sales. Then my bakers can start prepping fruit etc. I figure my amounts by looking at what has been ordered. I make a certain amount of extras to have for sale for walk-in customers. If I keep on taking orders then I have nothing to sell them. I know there are others in St. Louis making pies that are getting $20-$30 a pie. By keeping my waste down I can continue to keep my prices down. We are asking you to please place your orders by noon on Wednesday, and that will guarantee you get the items you want. And please come in and try my homemade lemonade.
If you place an order through the email we will always respond. If you do not get a response then we have not received your order. Please include the day for pick up, the size and your phone number.
This is the muffin that was made in the bakeries at the department store Jordan Marsh in Boston, where I grew up. There are an abundance of fresh blueberries in
