Greetings all,

I joined the BSMaRt staff in January 2016 as a paraprofessional, for what was supposed to be a 2 week assignment. In January 2020 I took on the role as your Parent Coordinator . As we all know 2020 was an insane time! You graciously supported me in this new role and I am eternally grateful for it! You have embraced me and all my quirks! You've entrusted your children to me, something I never took lightly. As I always told you, when your child is in this building they are my child.

It is with mixed emotions that I share that my time at BSMART has come to an end. I will be joining another high school that I hope to play just as much of a crucial role as I have played here. It has been an absolute pleasure serving you! As many of you know, I attended high school at the Bushwick Campus all four years! I have and will always hold this school close to my heart. This is the place that nurtured a lost girl and made her feel safe and at home. I truly hope I have done the same for your children. This position gave me an opportunity to support my family while serving my community.

Although, I will no longer be at BSMaRt I urge you to get involved and connect with whomever is brought to replace me. Let them know who YOUR child is. Stay on top of their grades and activities, connect with the staff. These people are your support system! We ALL know that it takes a village!

 Me uní al personal de BSMaRt en enero de 2016 como paraprofesional, para lo que se suponía sería una tarea de 2 semanas. En enero de 2020 asumí el cargo de coordinador de padres. ¡Como todos sabemos, 2020 fue una época de locura! ¡Usted me apoyó gentilmente en este nuevo rol y le estaré eternamente agradecido por eso! ¡Me has aceptado a mí y a todas mis peculiaridades! Me has confiado a tus hijos, algo que nunca tomé a la ligera. Como siempre les dije, cuando su hijo está en este edificio, es mi hijo.

Con emociones encontradas les comparto que mi tiempo en BSMART ha llegado a su fin. Me uniré a otra escuela secundaria que espero desempeñar un papel tan crucial como el que he desempeñado aquí. ¡Ha sido un absoluto placer servirle! Como muchos de ustedes saben, ¡asistí a la escuela secundaria en Bushwick Campus los cuatro años! Tengo y siempre mantendré esta escuela cerca de mi corazón. Este es el lugar que cuidó a una niña perdida y la hizo sentir segura y como en casa. Realmente espero haber hecho lo mismo por sus hijos. Este puesto me dio la oportunidad de apoyar a mi familia mientras servía a mi comunidad.

Aunque ya no estaré en BSMaRt, les insisto a que se involucren y se conecten con quienquiera que venga a reemplazarme. Hágales saber quién es SU hijo. Manténgase al tanto de sus calificaciones y actividades, conéctese con el personal. ¡Estas personas son tu sistema de apoyo! ¡TODOS sabemos que se necesita un pueblo!

Mucha suerte... Espero algún día cruzarme contigo y ponerme al día con todo lo que me he perdido. ¡¡¡Te deseo siempre lo mejor!!!!
