May 29, 2026

Every believer has been uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit—not for personal spotlight, but for building up the body of Christ. Too many Christians either don’t know their gifts or aren’t using them. This week will help people discover that they are not spectators in the church—they are participants. When we understand and use our spiritual gifts, the church becomes stronger and the mission moves forward.

Trevor Miller, Faith Formation Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Rachel Carosiello, Adult Discipleship Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Spiritual Gifts Survey

Because we will be talking about spiritual gifts this Sunday, we wanted to provide THIS LINK so you can take a survey and discover how God has uniquely gifted you.

Food Drive

Each summer, while our regular Backpack Ministry is on break, we come together to help families in our local school district who are facing food insecurity by providing a month’s worth of shelf-stable food through our annual Food Drive. Through the Backpack Ministry, we serve families across thirteen Lexington One schools, and every donation helps make a meaningful impact.

We’ll be collecting food items to help stock these families with needed supplies for the summer months. Whether you’re able to donate one item or several, your generosity helps care for families in our community.

This Sunday is the final day to drop off donations. Collections can be brought to the Missions Center, located outside the Auditorium in the West Building. Donations may also be dropped off through today at the Missions Office, located in the house behind the back parking lot.

Music Bingo

We are excited to announce that on Friday, June 19, from 6:00-7:30 PM, we’re turning up the music and bringing out the bingo cards for MUSIC BINGO! Here’s how it works: instead of numbers, you’ll be marking songs. Hit tunes from all kinds of genres and decades will fill the room, and your job is to sing along, enjoy the vibe and race to get BINGO for a chance to win some great prizes. Whether you know every single lyric or just want to kick back and have a good time, this is your night. Kids in 6th grade and up are welcome to join alongside their parents. Bring your competitive spirit, and hey, bring your singing voice if you’re feeling bold! This event will be held in the Student Room, and space is limited, so be sure to register soon. Summer MidWeek

It’s time to sign up for Summer Bible Studies, and we want you there! We’ve got two great classes to choose from this year. First up is The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, a video series by pastor and author John Mark Comer, led by our own pastoral team. This class is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and rediscover a life shaped not by urgency, but by the presence of God.

The second class, In God We Trust: Painting Freedom in Watercolor, led by Sheila Redford is a unique blend of faith and creative expression through watercolor. Both classes meet from 6:15-7:30 PM on Wednesday nights, beginning July 8 and wrapping up July 29. That’s just four Wednesday nights this summer. Click here to register.

Kids Worship Camp

We’re inviting rising 2nd through 5th graders to join us July 20-23 from 9 AM to 12 PM for an unforgettable experience exploring the creative arts through worship and music. Each day will be filled with group singing, hands-on workshops and engaging music instruction that brings worship to life. On Thursday at noon, parents and loved ones are invited to a special showcase. Registration is just $30 per student, and space is limited, so don’t wait! Click here to register.

Worship Workshops

The Contemporary Worship Team is hosting Worship Workshops for rising 6th-12th grade students interested in learning more about worship music, live production and pastoral ministry. This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of these areas and a great way to develop and refine skills. If you are a beginner, this is also an opportunity to be exposed to how these ministries work together to serve in a worship service setting. Workshops will take place July 28–30 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The cost is $30 per student, and the registration deadline is July 12. Click here to register.

Mt. Horeb Church Golf Classic

Mark your calendars for this year’s Backpack Ministry Golf Tournament at Golden Hills Golf Club on Monday, August 17!

This annual tournament supports the Mt. Horeb Church Backpack Ministry, which provides food each week to children facing food insecurity in Lexington School District 1. Thanks to the generosity of our church and community, hundreds of backpacks are distributed throughout the school year to children in need.

Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just love supporting a great cause, we’d love for you to be part of this meaningful day of fellowship, fun and impact. Registration opens on Father’s Day — June 21! More details, sponsorship opportunities and team registration information coming soon.
