September 11, 2026
Prayer is more than a crisis response—Scripture presents it as a way of life that shapes how we face our circumstances, recognizing God's goodness and carrying others' needs before Him. In 1 Timothy 2:1–6, Paul calls the church to become a prayer-driven people marked by supplication, thanksgiving and intercession. Prayer Driven People is a three-week journey through these expressions, stepping into the stories of people in Scripture who show us what it looks like to ask boldly, give thanks faithfully and stand in the gap for others.
We begin with Bartimaeus: blind, dependent, sitting beside the road. When he hears Jesus passing by, he shouts, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" The crowd tells him to be quiet, but he cries out louder. When Jesus calls for him, He asks a simple question: "What do you want me to do for you?" Bartimaeus doesn't give a polished answer—just his honest, specific need: "Rabbi, I want to see." That's supplication: bringing our need to Jesus without pretense, trusting He's the One worth calling out to.
Chris Morgan, Pastoral Intern, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Trevor Miller, Faith Formation Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.
For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.
