Summer Midweek
We know summertime is filled with vacations, but we also want to be able to keep you connected here at the church, too. Our Wednesday night classes begin on July 2 and end on July 23. Choose one and register here!
God in the Movies – Led by Trevor Miller – Is a unique class that explores spiritual themes in popular films. Each session, we’ll watch clips from well-known movies and discuss how they reflect biblical truths about faith, redemption, sacrifice, and hope. By engaging with stories on the big screen, we’ll uncover how God’s truth is woven into culture and how we can use movies as a tool for deeper spiritual reflection and meaningful conversations about faith.
Wednesday || 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM || Student Room
Painting the 23rd Psalm – Led by Sheila Redford – This special class will give you the opportunity to turn painting and the creative arts into a devotional practice. Taught by a long-time artist, you will learn the basics of painting such as values, color theory, and design as well as how our ability to create is born, ultimately, out of our Creator. In a world that is very dark and unstable, through painting and praying, we’ll encounter God in a new way. No previous art experience is necessary. Please note that this class requires a $20 payment directly to the teacher, in order for her to provide you with all the basic supplies you need. Information about how to make that payment will be available once you register.
Wednesday || 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM || Fellowship Hall
Bible Recap – Led by our Pastors– Join us as we dive into The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble. At our church, we believe truth is essential, so we’re studying the Bible together to deepen our understanding and see its big picture. This study is perfect for anyone eager to grow in faith and biblical knowledge.
Wednesday || 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM || Sanctuary

Small Group Launch
At Mt. Horeb, we believe that one of the best ways for us to stay in rhythm with God is by being in intentional, small group community with other Christians who are committed to living like Jesus. This August, we will be launching new small groups to help you find a place to grow and belong. If you are interested in joining one of these newly forming small groups, please fill out the information form here, and we will place you in a group, based on your preferences. In August 2025, we will hold a small group launch over the course of two weeks.
During week one, we will explore why we are called to be in community together. Groups will be invited to come to this first session on Sunday, August 10 at 9 AM.
During week two, we will explore how we are called to be in community together. Groups will be invited to come to this second session on Sunday, August 17 at 9 AM.
After those two weeks, groups will be launched to go and start meeting. If you are interested in inviting individuals or couples whom you are already connected with to join you, just indicate that in the form. Once you fill out your information, you will receive details about this exciting opportunity for growth! Registration will close on August 3. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at rachel.carosiello@mthorebchurch.org.
Truly, we are better at finding the rhythm of our life with God when we do it together. We hope you’ll join us!

Prasanth Update
Prasanth and his family are exhausted but safe. The evidence of what happened was lost in the fire, and the church had no insurance. The building’s cameras were not cloud-based, so there is no recorded footage.
Despite the tragedy, the church gathered for worship on Sunday. Prasanth shared that the church is not a building, but the people, and though the building is gone, their faith remains strong. This message went viral with over 3 million views in India, and between 15,000-20,000 people have come to the site seeking hope and healing.
The attack has united churches across the Telugu states, with many pledging support. Prasanth called the burned building "a burnt offering to the Lord" and believes the outpouring of God’s Spirit will grow His kingdom.
Prasanth has asked for continued prayers, especially for peace and strength as they minister to thousands who have come to see the site. He will also let us know exactly how we can help as he processes through everything. He knows they will need funds for sound equipment, tents for outdoor services, and transportation for those without access.
Please join us in praying for the outpouring of God’s Spirit, and that many who are curious will become committed followers of Christ.
