December 26, 2025
Christmas is not only about the beginning of Jesus’ story, it is about the beginning of ours. The same Jesus who entered the world in a manger is the One through whom God created the world and the One through whom God is making all things new. Hebrews 1 reminds us that Jesus is “the radiance of God’s glory,” sustaining all things by His powerful word. And through His life, death and resurrection, He brings the ultimate renewal the world has been waiting for. Paul declares that anyone who is in Christ is a “new creation,” meaning the old is gone and the new has come. The joy of re-creation is the joy of knowing that Jesus didn’t just come to save us, He came to transform us. In Him, our past is redeemed, our identity is restored and our future is re-written. Christmas joy continues long after the season ends because Jesus makes all things new, starting with us.
Stephen Fitch, Congregational Care Associate Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship service at 10:45 AM, and will also be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship service at 9:00 AM.
For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Advent Offering
Christian communities around the world celebrate Advent as a season of remembering and celebrating the arrival of Jesus on Earth. At Mt. Horeb, we choose to celebrate by taking a special offering to advance the kingdom of God. This year, our Advent offering will support a local and global church.
Globally, we’ll help rebuild a church in India led by our friend and former intern, Prasanth Bethu. In a city where less than 5% of the population is Christian, their church has grown to over 1,500 members despite facing adversity, including a fire that destroyed their building on May 31. With faith and determination, they cleared the rubble and began rebuilding, currently worshiping in a temporary space while
dreaming of restoring their auditorium.
Locally, we’ll support a growing Global Methodist Church in the Columbia area. By partnering with them, we aim to enhance their mission and broaden their outreach within the community. As Acts 1:8 reminds us, we are called to be witnesses everywhere—from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.
Please join us in making a positive impact in Columbia and India. You can give at mthorebchurch.org/give by selecting “Advent Offering" in the Fund dropdown menu.

Baptism Renewal Service
In the Global Methodist Church, we believe that, in baptism, God uses ordinary water to mark us in extraordinary ways. Baptism is the mark of God’s covenant with the Church, it marks the beginning of our faith journey and our initiation into the faith family. God is the primary actor and is always faithful to His covenant with us; therefore, baptism need never to be repeated. But, it can be reaffirmed. On January 4, at the beginning of the new year, we will all have the opportunity to recommit to Christ, come forward to touch the water and reaffirm our baptismal vows. We look forward to this powerful service together.
