The people at Babel united around a single mission: make a name for themselves. Their tower represented human pride, self-reliance, and the desire to reach heaven without dependence on God. In response, God confused their language and scattered them across the earth. This story reveals both the danger of collective pride and humanity’s constant temptation to replace worship of God with worship of self. This message explores ambition, identity, pride, and the importance of building lives that glorify God rather than ourselves.

Stephen Fitch, Congregational Care & Assimilation Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services. Chris Morgan was originally scheduled to preach in the Sanctuary this weekend, but baby had other plans and arrived early! We'll be streaming Pastor Stephen's message instead.

Summer MidWeek



Summer Bible Studies kick off this Wednesday, and we can’t wait to see you there! The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, a video series by John Mark Comer led by our pastoral team, still has spots open; it’s an invitation to slow down and rediscover a life shaped by God’s presence rather than urgency. Our watercolor class, In God We Trust: Painting Freedom in Watercolor with Sheila Redford, is now full. Classes meet 6:15–7:30 PM on Wednesday nights through July 29 (four sessions total). Membership Class

Whether you are seeking information about the church or are ready to join, you are invited to attend our Membership Class on Sunday, July 12 from 3 to 5 PM in Room 861. Those who wish to join the church will have that opportunity at the end of the class, and those who are not ready yet can return to a future class for additional information and/or to join. You can register at mthorebchurch.org/membership or through our Mt. Horeb app.

Baptism Class

Our Baptism Class for all ages will be held on Sunday, July 12 at 5 PM in Room 861. As Global Methodists, we believe that baptism is an outward sign of an inward work that God is doing in our lives and because God’s work is perfect, we believe in only being baptized once. If you or your child is someone who has never been baptized or if you’d like to learn more about baptism, please plan to attend. Once you attend, you can choose from one of our scheduled in-service baptism dates. This class is for all those wanting sprinkling and immersion. Register at mthorebchurch.org/baptism.



Worship Workshops

The Contemporary Worship Team is hosting Worship Workshops for rising 6th-12th grade students interested in learning more about worship music, live production and pastoral ministry. This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of these areas and a great way to develop and refine skills. If you are a beginner, this is also an opportunity to be exposed to how these ministries work together to serve in a worship service setting. Workshops will take place July 28–30 from 9:00 AM–12:30 PM. The cost is $30 per student, and the registration deadline is July 12. Click here to register.



Sisterhood

Join us on Friday, July 17 in the Student Room from 6–8 PM for a joy-filled night of food and fellowship as we come together to connect, be refreshed and celebrate what God is doing among us. No formal program will be offered as this evening is designed to nourish your soul, spark meaningful conversations and give you space to laugh and enjoy community. And the food? It’s a treat you won’t want to miss! Bring money because we’ll have two amazing food trucks on site so that you can purchase dinner. Plus, included for free, satisfy your sweet tooth with Cookies by Cristyn, where you’ll not only enjoy delicious cookies, but also get hands-on with cookie-decorating fun!
