January 30, 2026
Pornography and sexual sin thrive in secrecy and shame, convincing us that we’re alone and beyond help. This week we confront the spiritual distortion of sexual addiction and the deep impact it has on identity, relationships and the heart. The
message is clear: purity isn’t about perfection, it’s about being restored. Jesus meets us in the dark places and leads us back into the light.
Michael Turner, Senior Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Jeff Kersey, Pastor Emeritus, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.
For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.
| | We want to warn parents that this Sunday's sermon topic in both the Sanctuary and Auditorium will address sensitive content. Even if you don't typically send your children to Kid's Ministry, we strongly encourage you to consider it this week, as the message may raise questions or discussions you may not feel your children are ready for. | |
Weather Alert
This week, we are again facing forecasts of winter weather that will potentially make travel treacherous on Sunday morning. Gathering for worship together is incredibly important, but we never want to jeopardize the safety of our staff and congregation. Therefore, our teams are planning to record worship elements and sermons for both Traditional and Contemporary Services in case inclement weather prohibits our in-person gatherings.
Because forecasts are fluid, we will closely monitor the situation and announce about Sunday services by 10 AM on Saturday. Be looking for an email or on our social media and website for this update on Saturday morning.

Souper Bowl of Caring
Next Sunday, February 8 is the Big Game Day! For the past few years we’ve partnered with Souper Bowl of Caring, a national nonprofit dedicated to TACKLING HUNGER to collect donations for local food banks. This effort empowers churches to give 100% of contributions directly to local communities.
For several years, we’ve supported Turner Memorial AME Church in West Columbia, which operates a daily food bank. Together, we’ve donated more than $25,000 over the past seven years, and we’re excited to continue this meaningful tradition!
As you exit the worship service, students will be holding large soup pots to receive this special offering.

Ash Wednesday
Mark your calendars for February 18 and join us for our Ash Wednesday services in the Sanctuary. The Lenten Season or Lent refers to the forty-day period leading up to Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends the Saturday before Easter Sunday. Lent is a time when Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, giving up habits, and spiritual discipline. Begin Lent with us by receiving the imposition of ashes. We will have 2 services this year. For your convenience, our 12:30 PM afternoon service in the Sanctuary will be a 30-minute service. Our evening service will begin at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary.

10:10 Bridge
In an effort to provide a large and safe play space for our 10:10 Bridge children, we will be blocking off the area behind the auditorium, from the elementary playground down to the dumpsters. This area will be closed to vehicle traffic on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-5 PM.
Please do not park in this space or use it as a cut-through during these times.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our children.
We will also be adding a portable basketball goal to the grassy area, positioned so that the hoop slightly overhangs the parking lot without affecting parking availability on weekends or for special events. We are excited to offer basketball lessons for the children and need this space to support that activity.
