February 6, 2026

Not all addictions look destructive on the surface. Technology, entertainment, shopping and the constant desire for more subtly shapes our hearts and attention. This week we explore the spiritual dangers of distraction and materialism and

how easily what we own can start to own us. God calls us to a life of contentment,

presence and undivided worship.

Trevor Miller, Faith Formation Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Stephen Fitch, Congregational Care & Assimilation Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Sunday is the Big Game Day! For the past few years we’ve partnered with Souper Bowl of Caring, a national nonprofit dedicated to TACKLING HUNGER to collect donations for local food banks. This effort empowers churches to give 100% of contributions directly to local communities.

For several years, we’ve supported Turner Memorial AME Church in West Columbia, which operates a daily food bank. Together, we’ve donated more than $25,000 over the past seven years, and we’re excited to continue this meaningful tradition!

As you exit the worship service, students will be holding large soup pots to receive this special offering.

Ash Wednesday

Mark your calendars for February 18 and join us for our Ash Wednesday services in the Sanctuary. The Lenten Season or Lent refers to the forty-day period leading up to Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends the Saturday before Easter Sunday. Lent is a time when Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, giving up habits and spiritual discipline. Begin Lent with us by receiving the imposition of ashes. We will have two services this year. For your convenience, our 12:30 PM afternoon service in the Sanctuary will be a 30-minute service. Our evening service will begin at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary.
