Resurrection life is powerful—but it is also contested. Paul reminds believers that we live in a spiritual battle and must learn to stand firm in the strength of the Lord. Through Christ we are not helpless; we are equipped with the armor of God—truth, righteousness, faith, salvation and the Word of God. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now strengthens His people to stand against darkness. Immersion baptism beautifully represents this truth: we go down into the water symbolizing death to the old life, and we rise again symbolizing new life in Christ. Because Jesus is risen, we are empowered to live boldly, faithfully and victoriously.

Michael Turner, Senior Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Jeff Kersey, Pastor Emeritus, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

Membership Class

Whether you’re exploring Mt. Horeb or ready to join, you’re invited to our Membership Class on Sunday from 3–5 PM in Room 861. Baptism Class

Our Baptism Class for all ages is happening Sunday at 5 PM in Room 861. As Global Methodists, we believe baptism is an outward sign of the inward work God is doing in our lives, and because His work is perfect, we practice one baptism.



If you or your child has never been baptized, or if you’d like to learn more, we’d love you to join us. After attending the class, you can choose from one of our upcoming in-service baptism dates. Senior Graduation Dinner—Class of 2026

We warmly invite graduating students, their families and friends to join us on May 15 at 6 PM in the Student Room for a special Graduation Dinner as we celebrate and honor our graduates and this incredible milestone. 



We’ll share a meal, tell stories and pray over what God has ahead for each of them. It’s going to be a meaningful night to celebrate their accomplishments and surround them with love and support. Visit mthorebchurch.org/students to register.

Senior Adults Luncheon

Take a break and experience the unforgettable sounds of The Dick Goodwin Big Band. This Mt. Horeb Senior Adults special event will feature the Dick Goodwin 11-piece band headlining some of the most respected USC music professors, SC Philharmonic members and top area music educators. The band plays musical arrangements from the Big Band, Dixieland and Swing eras as well as beach music and favorites from various decades. Dick and members of the band have performed with such notables as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Henry Mancini, the Temptations and Johnny Mathis, to name a few. Join us Tuesday, May 19 at 11:30 AM in the Auditorium. The cost of this event is $15 - nonrefundable. Registration is required by Thursday, May 14. Vacation Bible School

VBS 2026 enrollment is underway! If you haven't registered yet, there's still time to sign up for Rainforest Falls VBS 2026. 

The session from May 31 to June 2 is designated for individuals with special needs, ages 12 and older. Registration is available at mthorebchurch.org/snvbs. 

The June 8 to 11 sessions, with three options, are open to children ages four through fifth grade. To register as a participant or volunteer, visit mthorebchurch.org/vbs. 

We anticipate welcoming 1,500 children and require 1,000 volunteers to ensure a successful Vacation Bible School. The greatest need is for adult Crew Guides.
