May 16, 2025

While it’s true that God is our ultimate judge, the phrase, “only God can judge me” is often used to reject accountability. The Bible calls us to humbly correct one another in love, not to avoid judgment altogether. Real love speaks truth and calls people to holiness.

Michael Turner, Senior Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Bill Bouknight, Retired GMC Guest Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Food Drive

Each summer, while we break from our normal Backpack Ministry, we make it a point to provide the families from our local school district struggling with food insecurity with a month’s worth of shelf-stable foods through an annual food drive. We’ll be collecting the food on Sunday mornings, May 18 and 25, or you can drop off your donation at the Missions Ministry porch May 19-22 during office hours. For more information on what foods to bring, visit mthorebchurch.org/missions.

Senior Adult Luncheon

If you were unable to register for the Senior Adult luncheon on Tuesday, May 20, you are welcome to attend the concert presented by Christian singer, songwriter, author and speaker, Dawn Smith Jordan. The concert will begin at 12:15 PM in the Sanctuary in the East building.

Columbia Worship Gathering

We are looking forward to seeing you at our next Columbia Worship Gathering on May 25. Our mission is to make, mature and mobilize disciples who magnify Jesus, and we are excited for you to join us on this journey. We will continue hosting Columbia Worship Gatherings on Sunday evenings downtown over the next several months. Find out more about the location and dates by visiting mthorebchurch.org/columbia. Make plans to join us at 6 PM at 701 Whaley in Columbia.

VBS 2025

We already have over 1,500 kids registered for VBS and we are needing some amazing adults to serve alongside them to help them experience the best week of summer! Currently we do not have enough adults to place with the children we have registered. Would you prayerfully consider serving as a crew guide that will lead them through the different stations that they will take part in throughout their time with us? Crew guides are needed for the morning and afternoon sessions. Visit mthorebchurch.org/vbs to serve.

BEHOLD Conference

Gather with us for a special conference full of Biblical teaching, passionate

worship and encouragement from other believers across the state. From the main sessions to the breakouts, this is a time to grow in your faith while gaining wisdom from others serving in ministry. BEHOLD Conference has been designed for church members, volunteers, leaders and all interested in growing in their love for God

and others. We are honored to host this great event here at Mt. Horeb Church for

the Global Methodist Church in our state, and we invite you to attend June 25-27.

Visit mthorebchurch.org/events to find out more details and to register.

Online Bulletin

If you can't be here on Sunday morning, stay connected through our online bulletin. You can see our weekly financial report as well as a list of needs to pray over. Click here to view our weekly bulletin.
