November 8, 2024

King Nebuchadnezzar, at the height of his power, has a disturbing dream of a great tree that is cut down. Once again, Daniel is called upon to interpret the dream while in exile. The tree represents Nebuchadnezzar himself, and Daniel warns the king that he will lose his kingdom and live like an animal for seven years unless he repents of his pride. When Nebuchadnezzar fails to heed this warning, the prophecy is fulfilled. . This week in our Exiles series, we'll examine the consequences of pride and the importance of recognizing God's sovereignty in our lives.

Jeff Kersey, Senior Pastor, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Rachel Carosiello, Adult Discipleship Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Operation Christmas Child

Thanks to everyone who picked up Operation Christmas Child boxes over the last 2 weeks. You may return your boxes this Sunday. Drop them off at the tables outside the worship spaces or at the Church Administrative Office next week so that we can include it in our blessing of the boxes on Sunday, November 17.

Small Group Launch

At Mt. Horeb, we believe that one of the best ways for us to stay in rhythm with God is by being in intentional, small group community with other Christians who are committed to living like Jesus. This January, we will be launching new small groups to help you find a place to grow and belong. If you are interested in joining one of these newly forming small groups, please fill out the registration form linked below, and we will place you in a group, based on your preferences. In January 2025, we will hold a small group launch over the course of two weeks.

On week one, we will explore why we are called to be in community together. Groups will be invited to come to this first session at one of these times: Sunday, January 12 at 9:00 AM or 10:45 AM or Wednesday, January 15 at 6:15 PM.

On week two, we will explore how we are called to be in community together. Groups will be invited to come to this second session at one of these times: Sunday, January 19 at 9:00 AM or 10:45 AM or Wednesday, January 22 at 6:15 PM.

After those two weeks, groups will be launched to go and start meeting. If you are interested in inviting individuals or couples whom you are already connected with to join you, just indicate that in the form. Once you fill out your information, you will receive details about this exciting opportunity for growth! We will have 2 groups available for those in the downtown area. Registration will close on December 15. Register here.
