November 21, 2025

James closes his letter by pointing believers to prayer. Whether in suffering, joy, sickness or sin—prayer is the first response of God’s people. Prayer connects us to

God’s power, brings healing and restores relationships. As we conclude this series, we’ll be reminded that faith is not just personal but communal, and the praying church is the powerful church.

Jeff Kersey, Pastor Emeritus, will be preaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services; Stephen Fitch, Congregational Care Associate Pastor, will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

Prayer & Healing Service

As part of our regular services this Sunday, we will have an extended time for prayer and healing in the Auditorium and Sanctuary. You can come to stations set up across the rooms and voice your prayer requests to one of our prayer team members, who will pray over you. Make plans to attend one of these powerful services on Sunday.

Christmas: From Family to Family

It is time for our annual Christmas: From Family to Family gift collection. Visit the tables as you exit the worship services this Sunday to select a "gift tag" you plan to purchase. It will have a child's gender, age and an identified want and/or need, including helpful likes/dislikes. All the information you need, including when to bring back the gifts, will be found at the tables on Sunday and at mthorebchurch.org/missions.

We can only accept new, unused items. Please include the tag when you bring it back to us. We can't wait to serve with you this Christmas as we spread the hope and joy of the Gospel from family to family!

Christmas at Mt. Horeb

We hope you will join us this Advent season, which begins on November 30, for all of our events and services either in-person or online. It is truly the most wonderful time of the year and we are excited to see what God will do. Visit christmasatmthoreb.org to see all the wonderful things we have planned.

Night to Shine

One of the best events we have at Mt. Horeb is Night to Shine, an incredible prom night experience celebrating God’s love for people with special needs. It is a huge blessing for everyone involved, so come join in the fun! Registration is now open for participants and volunteers. Register at nighttoshinemidlands.org

Christmas Musical

Many have made Mt. Horeb’s Christmas musical an annual tradition. We invite you to join us at one of our four performances in the Auditorium.

Saturday, December 6 | 5:00 and 7:00 PM

Sunday, December 7 | 9:00 and 10:45 AM

There will not be services in the Sanctuary as our worship teams are coming together to create a special experience to celebrate the Christmas season. You don’t want to miss this spectacular celebration. Mark your calendars now! The nursery will be provided for children three years and under during the 5:00 PM, 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM services.

Classic Christmas Concert

Mark your calendars! Mt. Horeb's Traditional Worship team is hosting a Classic Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 13 at 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Our orchestra, adult choir, kids choir and handbells choir will be leading us in a beautiful night of worship celebrating the Savior's birth.

Celebrate your Bible Recap Journey

Order a t-shirt that celebrates every chapter you completed because He's where the joy is! We will hand the shirts out on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Every thread represents the early mornings, late nights and quiet moments spent in God’s Word. When you put it on, you’re reminded that you didn’t just read words on a page; you journeyed with God from Genesis to Revelation!
