Dear Mt. Pleasant Community,
We are excited to share that the Mount Pleasant After School Program (MPAS) has been honored as an official 2024 Golden Bell Award Winner. MPAS received a successful validation from the California School Boards Association (CSBA) Golden Bell Awards, which promote excellence in education and school board governance by recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California. The Golden Bell Awards reflect the depth and breadth of education programs and governance decisions supporting these programs that are necessary to address students’ changing needs.
The celebration to honor MPAS and this year’s award winners will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Anaheim.
MPAS is free to all participating students. Under the leadership of Daniel Patton, Program Director, MPAS operates Monday through Friday, from the time school is out until 6:00pm. This after-school program at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School District is built around three central components: Homework Center, Enrichment Classes, and Physical Activity & Sports Programs.
The goal of MPAS is to empower leaders, inspire students, and unite communities. Thank you all for your support of our students and for making MPAS an award-winning program!
Congratulations!
Dr. Elida MacArthur
