Welcome to the weekly bulletin. Early voting has already begun and there are 36 days until Election Day when we will pick our next Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and all of our delegates. See all of our candidates and get involved HERE.
If Only I Had ...
Some of my greatest disappointments in life have been restaurants that have gone out of business. Some because of the great food, and others because of some memorable event that took place there. I've often thought whether I was partially at fault by not eating at my favorite spots more often or not introducing more friends to become customers.
I think that in a similar way, a lot of people are disappointed in loosing their ability to easily vote or terminate a pregnancy resulting from a rape. As we allow more Republicans to be elected to offices only because we didn't show up or get our neighbors to show up, we take another step backward.
How many of the people who didn't vote in 2016 do you think are really disappointed the Supreme Court is starting to chip away at our freedoms and is clearly heading toward a day where big money and big business determine our destiny?

Last week the Cook Political Report changed the Virginia governor's race to 'toss-up.' Let's not be disappointed!
What a great time to get involved in our Committee even though we seem to be entering yet another wave of a once-in-a-century pandemic. Look in this Weekly Bulletin for lots of ways you can be involved now. Click HERE to send me a note with your ideas about helping our neighbors, registering new voters or working to get Democrats elected.

COMMITTEE NEWS
Recall Fever ...
Did you catch the monthly meeting last Tuesday? We have had more feedback from that meeting than almost any other in the past 18 months!

Three of our School Board members and our Commonwealths Attorney are fighting recalls for simply doing their jobs: keeping our kids safe during a pandemic and holding rouge police officers accountable! And yes, you heard it correctly; the School Board provides lawyers, but the legal fees to fight his recall comes out of Steve Descano's pocket!

The recalls are well funded by Republican dark money sources, and there is little doubt they are a prelude to taking control in 2023.

Steve Descano summed up the entire situation well when he said "Republicans may not be good at many things; they may not be good at setting agendas; they may not be good at policy proposals or in Fairfax County getting votes; but they are very good at the long game of setting their goals many years out."

Women’s March: Rally for Abortion Justice
October 2, 2021 @ 11:00 am Freedom Plaza
1325 Pennsylvania Ave, NW Washington, DC 20004
When the Supreme Court rejected an emergency request to block Texas’s abortion ban, they effectively took the next step towards overturning Roe v. Wade. Simply put: We are witnessing the most dire threat to abortion access in our lifetime.

That’s why we’re marching in every single state and in our nation’s capital Washington, DC – on October 2 before the Supreme Court reconvenes. We need to send an unmistakable message about our fierce opposition to restricting abortion access and overturning Roe v. Wade before it’s too late.
