A Very Special Thank You
More THANK YOUS are in order for all our volunteers and especially the combined Daughtery/Joy Sunday School classes. This Monday, we saw a wonderful outpouring of generosity of time, food & caring for the reception following the memorial service for Margaret Easterlin.
We, again, thank everyone for all their support & time to make Mulberry Street United Methodist Church such a great church. It is members of this caliber through the years that have built a 200-year-old church.
Thank you, thank you!

Message from our Community Garden
Mercer University students volunteered to help in the garden on Saturday, February 7th. Seventeen (17) attended and, of that group, ten (10) were from the Mercer Football team! They were very helpful with big projects that needed to be done in the garden.
We look forward to seeing our volunteers again on Saturday, February 21st.

2026 Greater Macon Sleepout
The 2026 Macon Sleepout will be Thursday, February 26. By choosing to “sleep out,” supporters stand in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness and raise critical funds for Depaul USA Daybreak/Sheridan Center. Proceeds from the event help provide meals, showers, laundry, medical services, and case management—essential support that empowers our neighbors on their journey toward stability and housing. This year, Mulberry members Emory Dunn, Lida Hill, and Carole Seegert are again joining our homeless for a night outside. You can support them through donations at the link below.

A Bicentennial Moment
In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.
The following are excerpts from the various historical sources regarding Mulberry’s organ.
“Since the day pipe organs were first designed for church use, they have been the focal point not only of inspiring and beautiful music for worship but also of a certain romantic or historical tradition. Today’s Mulberry organ is actually made up of several organs that have served this Church.
Many of the solo voices are from the original pipe organ that in 1928 through the generosity of the children of Edith Pate Stetson, the gift of a Skinner organ was made to the church as a memorial to their mother. This organ was of fine quality and replaced an older organ but It served the church well until a program of major renovation in 1957 required an expansion and modernization of the instrument. Several of the stops from the Skinner organ were incorporated into the new organ by the Moller Organ Company in Hagerstown, MC. Specifically, the clarinet, the concert flute, the harp, oboe and chimes were retained as part of the larger organ. When Mulberry’s sanctuary burned in 1965, comparatively little of the organ was damaged because most of the pipes were recessed in organ chambers protected by a brick well. The antiphonal division was added and located high above the balcony. Again in 1987, a renovation and revoicing of the organ was completed by the master organ builders of Guzowski and Steppe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
The main body is located behind the altar and is shielded by the gold fabric as seen from the sanctuary. It stands two stories high. The organist sits at the three manual keyboard plus pedal keyboard console located to the right of the altar in the choir chamber. There are 40 ranks or sets of pipes in the main organ and 6 ranks in the Antiphonal. Large electric motors and a system of blowers located in the lower level of the building and over the front entrance supply the air pressure to operate the organ. Ranging in height from 6 inches to 16 feet, 3,093 pipes speak the infinite combination of voice and tone colors that make up this mighty instrument.”

Morning Prayer of Petition
Steadfast God, you are faithful to the covenant you make with your people, extending across time and space. May I be made faithful in my relationships, with you, and with others in my life. Today I pray for my relationship:
- with family,
- with friends and neighbors,
- with those I find difficult to bear,
- with those I too easily neglect or take for granted,
- with you.
Help me to be faithful as you are faithful. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude
Faithful God, just as you made covenant with the patriarchs and matriarchs of faith, so you continue to be steadfast in your relationship with us today. With gratitude, I thank you for the ways that you are faithful to me:
- for opportunities that you give me,
- for resources that you surround me with,
- for help and ways that you surround me with care,
- for meaningful work, relationships, and projects.
Stir up in me a heart of gratitude that I may reflect your faithfulness to me in those that I seek to love. Amen.
