Weekly Worship & Prayer during Lent
Join us as we continue our monthly Worship and Prayer service with a special weekly Lenten series from March 12 to April 9. Lent is a season for reflection and spiritual growth as we prepare for the joy of Easter, and this five-week journey will provide an opportunity to deepen our faith through prayer, contemplative practices, and worship. Our evenings will be centered around the theme of gardening; like seeds planted in rich soil, nourished by prayer, scripture, and the light of Christ, we are called to cultivate a deeper, more fruitful faith.
Each Wednesday evening, we will gather for a fellowship dinner at 5:30 PM, followed by a time of scripture, song, and guided prayer at 6:15 PM. Whether you are seeking a new Lenten discipline or simply longing for a space to draw closer to God, we invite you to make the most of this season with us. All are welcome!

A Bicentennial Moment
In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.
The following are excerpts taken from The Pastor’s Report to the Board of Stewards meeting, February 7, 1946.
“The recent City-wide Religious Survey reveals a most challenging opportunity for this Church. During the next three months all of the activities will be built around the Evangelistic responsibility and opportunity of this Church. It is time for all of us to make the old Revival Song our theme, “Revive Us Again.” This board has a Committee on Membership and Evangelism. This is the Committee to lead in the work of visitation, enlistment of these people in the Church and our organizations. This committee will need and I am sure will have, the full support of every one of you. “New occasions teach us new duties,” and that occasion is now. If this Board will throw all of its magnificent support in this enterprise, success is assured.
The definite trend in Church life is for a larger, well directed program of activities for young people. It is my judgment that Mulberry Street Church should take immediate steps to convert the old Sunday School annex into the proper facilities for such a program. Compared to other congregations in the city, the outlay of money here at Mulberry Street Church would be nominal. I have been told by an architect that this part of our plant could be converted so that we would have on the ground floor sufficient space for three bowling alleys, a Boy Scout Room, boys and girls lavatories and dressing rooms, expansion of the kitchen facilities and an ample space for ping pong tables, etc. On the second floor a Girl Scout Room, a state and a social room that would seat three hundred and fifty people, and class rooms. On the third floor, two large class rooms and an assembly room. I submit this to you, and I do so not to be dismissed as something the pastor wants, but a need for your Church and your children.”

Morning Prayer of Petition
God of our salvation, in Christ you showed yourself to be the Great Physician, healing us in body, mind, and spirit. There is much in my world that needs your healing power today:
- for those that suffer from illness and disease,
- for those that struggle with mental health,
- for those who live in the midst of violence and trauma,
- for conflict in our world,
- for relationships that are fractured and broken.
Pour out your healing power on us that we may experience your shalom. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude
Gracious God, even now you are work in my life and in the world, redeeming, blessing, rescuing, and healing. May you open my heart to see the ways that you are at work in:
- my relationships that are strained,
- my inner being when I struggle or despair,
- my family when circumstances are difficult or uncertain,
- my community when it seems divided and fractured,
- my world, which seems chaotic and broken.
Continue to show me the ways that you are working beneath the surface, bringing all things under your power and salvation. Amen.
