The Longest Night Prayer Stations
December 20 | 10 am – 1 pm | Prayer Chapel
Next Friday, the church will be open from 10 am to 1 pm for prayer in our small prayer chapel (next to the sanctuary). If you find yourself struggling this season, we invite you to come and simply be with these feelings and with God. We will have prayer activities if you need direction, liturgies printed out if you need help naming your emotions, and of course, you are welcome to sit in silence as you welcome the Light that shines in our darkness.

The Wesley Glen Christmas Party was a wonderful event hosted by Mulberry. A huge "Thank You" to the volunteers from Mulberry and the other churches involved: Centenary, Martha Bowman, and Vineville Methodist. A special thank you to Gini Lamback for being the driving force behind this celebration.
Our Church sponsored a Christmas family with seven (7) children ranging in age from 2yrs to 9 yrs and received $1100 in donations for coats, shoes, pants, a few toys & Christmas meals. Thank you so much for your generosity! Thank you, Elisa, for picking up items needed for the family.
The Community Garden continues to provide "fresh" produce for the Macon Outreach Food Pantry. Jane Moore, Carole Seegert, and Waverly Golson harvested seven large bags of fresh collards this past week—thank ya'll so much.
A special thank you to Millie Thompson who made it possible to see the Ainsworth Christmas Special on YouTube. It is wonderful to be able to revisit and enjoy.
Merry Christmas, All from the Mulberry Staff

A Bicentennial Moment
In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.
On October 1, 1913 the Board of Stewards met with 27 members present and the following items were reported:
“The usual matter was taken up including the Finance Committee’s approval of bills amounting to $179.50 which the Board authorized to be paid. With respect to the bill for paving recently laid in front of the church property which amounted to $950.95, Chairman Roberts of the Finance Committee moved that his committee be authorized to inquire as to the legality of exempting church property from such assessments, and also to investigate the charges for the work and arrange for a satisfactory adjustment. His motion carried.”
A letter addressed to the Board by Holmes Johnson, a coal dealer who was a former member of the Board, was read, requesting that the winter’s supply of coal be purchased from him. The chairman of the Property Committee advised that he had already placed an order for coal at a cheaper rate than offered in the letter and the Board sustained his action, requesting the Secretary reply to the letter.
On December 12, 1913 the following report was given:
“The Finance Committee reported that an investigation had been made of the charges for paving in front of the church property and that the same were correct. No exemption of church property from such assessments was authorized by law.”

Morning Prayer of Petition
Steadfast God, you call your people to joy and thanksgiving, but too often I am tempted towards cynicism and a mindset of scarcity. As I wake, forgive me for the ways that I fail to see you at work and rejoice at your presence. Forgive me for:
- people I overlook or take for granted,
- blessings that I do not recognize,
- simply moments that I do not stop and soak up,
- reasons for joy that I do not see or notice.
Today, help me to focus on the reasons I have to be joyful and help me resist a hard heart that no longer sees reasons to rejoice in you. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude
God of joy and singing, as I reflect on today, may I notice the ways you continue to show up in my life. As the angels rejoice at the birth of Christ, may I learn to rejoice at your presence in my life. I rejoice for:
- one way you cared for me today,
- one way you opened my eyes today,
- one person that was a source of encouragement or comfort today,
- one opportunity you presented to me today,
- one blessing that I overlooked today.
May I have the eyes to see your work, and a heart that finds joy in your daily presence. Amen.
