This past Sunday we honored two of Mulberry's dedicated members, Mickey & Carol Pope, and their many years of ministry here. During worship our pastors presented them with a commemorative plaque, followed by a reception in the Parlor. What a joy to celebrate these two, who have served and blessed Mulberry in so many ways over the years!

Weekly Worship & Prayer during Lent

Join us as we continue our monthly Worship and Prayer service with a special weekly Lenten series from March 12 to April 9. Lent is a season for reflection and spiritual growth as we prepare for the joy of Easter, and this five-week journey will provide an opportunity to deepen our faith through prayer, contemplative practices, and worship. Our evenings will be centered around the theme of gardening; like seeds planted in rich soil, nourished by prayer, scripture, and the light of Christ, we are called to cultivate a deeper, more fruitful faith.

Each Wednesday evening, we will gather for a fellowship dinner at 5:30 PM, followed by a time of scripture, song, and guided prayer at 6:15 PM. Whether you are seeking a new Lenten discipline or simply longing for a space to draw closer to God, we invite you to make the most of this season with us. All are welcome! Nursery is provided.

Special Thank You

A very special thank you to Mr. Harold Downs, who this week helped with the updating of our sanctuary pew cards! Harold volunteers in the church office on Wednesdays, and this week we cut all the new cards, pulled the old ones, and placed the new cards in all the pews. Thank you, Harold - the Mulberry staff appreciates you!

New Baby/Toddler Nursery Opening in March

Our new Baby/Toddler nursery will open this March! Elisa, Brian, and the Family Ministries team have been hard at work setting up the new nursery space on the 2nd floor in the Children's Wing.

The new nursery will open on March 5 for the Ash Wednesday service and begin on Sundays on March 9.

A Bicentennial Moment

In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.

Minutes from the Board of Stewards Meeting, November 10, 1915

“As per resolution passed at last meeting, an extra session of the Board was held in the usual place beginning at seven thirty o’clock, evening and lasting for an hour and half. Chairman A. O. Parks presided, observing at the beginning devotional exercises. The Treasurer’s reports follow the record of minutes.  It was estimated by the stewards present with assessment lists and by the Book-keeper for those absent that a total of about $1000.00 was available on accounts showing an aggregate of $2200.00 due for the year and unpaid to date.

By motion of Dr. R. Holmes Mason another meeting of the Board was set for November 17, to precede the Fourth Quarterly Conference on same date. Referring to the recommendations of the Pastor at the meeting of September 22, the Board voted in favor of making another annual “Every Member” canvass Sunday afternoon, November 26.  The appointment of an assessment committee, as requested by the Book-keeper October 27, was obviated, since the canvass would result in securing pledges from the church membership toward expenses of the coming year.

The remainder of the hour and a half was devoted to a general discussion of fire, but with references to the temperature of the church auditorium rather than dogmatically.”

Day 1. Psalm 86:15 (Morning); Isaiah 30:18 (Evening)

Day 2. Matthew 9:36 (Morning); Psalm 72:13 (Evening)

Day 3. Exodus 33:19 (Morning); Colossians 3:12 (Evening)

Day 4. Psalm 40;11 (Morning); Luke 15:20 (Evening)

Day 5. Luke 1:78 (Morning); Psalm 145:9 (Evening)

Morning Prayer of Petition

God of mercy and compassion, often my heart is hardened towards those situations and people that need love. Today slow my pace so I can notice and respond in compassion to:

  • those close to me whom I might overlook or neglect,
  • people who are left out or overlooked,
  • people who are consistently treated unjustly,
  • those who anger or frustrate me.

Shape my heart to mirror for others the compassion you have for me. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Ever present God, even today you surprise me and show up for me. In thanksgiving, I name:

  • the ways you cared for me today,
  • the people who spoke encouraging words to me today,
  • moments when you made yourself known to me today,
  • opportunities you offered me to care for others.

Thank you for your love and compassion towards me. Help me to see your mercy anew each day, that I may live out of the abundance you show for me. Amen.
