Children's Center 20/205 Fundraising Challenge

We're three months into this school year at The Children's Center at Mulberry, and things keep getting more and more exciting! Most recently, a small group of loyal CCM supporters came together and committed to give $100 for every donor who sets up a new recurring donation of at least $25/month for 2025, and this group pledged to give up to $10,000 in the challenge! Talk about exciting! We're calling this our "25/2025 Challenge" and ask you to join our growing list of supporters setting up their monthly gifts for 2025.

Read the full letter from the CCM Board to learn more about the challenge.

Macon Outreach Fall Campaign

The annual fall fund-raising drive to help finance our church’s historic outreach ministry was kicked off November 24. Giving envelopes are in the mail, and we hope you will give generously to help us feed, cloth and comfort the working poor and homeless who cross our doorsteps daily. You can return the envelope, use the QR code or just put a check to “Macon Outreach” in the offering plate.

Jesus said, “ Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me.” (Matthew 25:40)

A Bicentennial Moment

In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.

On Sunday, July 13, 1930, the Board of Stewards appointed a committee of R. L. McKenney, Chairman, W. R. Rogers, Jr., J. D. Riley, H. Persons Heath and Dana H. Adams to enter a protest to the Committee from the City Council against the erection of a master service station on the corner of First and Mulberry Streets, just across First Street from our main auditorium. The Board was requested to go in a body to also enter protest at the next meeting of City Council.

On August 20, 1930, the Board of Stewards received a report from the committee to register complaint to the City Council for the erection of a Master Service Station from Chairman R. L. McKenney that stated “the Council turned a deaf ear to our complaints and granted, by unanimous vote, to allow the Firestone people to erect the station.

Then by a formal motion, the Board passed a resolution to employ as counsel, Park & Strozier, to file an injunction proceedings against the Firestone people to prevent the erection of this master service station at this point so near our church, with the firm belief that such a plant there would prove a nuisance and interrupt our church work.  A motion was also made and carried that both the Chairman of the Special Committee and the Chairman of the Board, write directly to Mr. Harvey Firestone declaring our opposition to the erection of this station and plainly stating our position in this matter.”

Weekly Prayers & Scripture

We hope that these prayers and readings will help you grow deeper in your connection to God!

Morning Prayer of Petition

Holy God, your son is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Today I pray for peace, plead for peace, and ask you to fill the places in my life and in our world that need your peace:

I pray for peace in my inner spirit where I am distracted and anxious. I pray for peace in my relationships with family, friends, coworkers, neighbors. I pray for peace in my community, city, and country where divisiveness seems to reign. I pray for peace among people globally, especially where conflict and war are an expected way of life.

As we prepare to celebrate the coming of your son into the world, may the peace He embodies and offers be made real on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Gracious God, as I look back on this day, it is too easy to focus on places of discord and division. Instead, I give you thanks for the ways you are working in my life for peace and wholeness. Today God, I thank you for:

  • the ways you are working to bring peace to my emotional and mental being
  • the way you are working my relationships, especially those that are strained or fractured,
  • the ways you are offering a picture of peace in my church or community.

As I rest and look forward to a new day tomorrow, may I have the eyes to see where you are at work for peace in the wold, and may I have the courage to join you in that work. Amen.
