Discover Mulberry New Member Luncheon

* It's not too late to sign up!

If you’re new to Mulberry or considering joining, we’d love to welcome you at our New Member Welcome Lunch on Sunday, May 18th, after worship in the parlor. Lunch will be provided as we hear from Jack, Payton, and others about their stories and the story of Mulberry. There will be an in-depth tour of the church, opportunities to meet lay leaders and learn how they serve, and time to connect with representatives from the Children’s Center at Mulberry and Macon Outreach. A Bicentennial Moment

In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.

The following are excerpts from the Board of Stewards minutes, June 11, 1901:

“Board met in called session in the annex at 5:00 p.m., Chairman Solomon presiding.

Prayer was led by Bro. Solomon. Fourteen members were present.

The special object of the meeting was to receive reports from The Stewards on their collections.  The Stewards present made details reports covering their lists.

Motion was made and carried, that the name of J. T. Holt be presented to the next church conference, with the charge against him that he has not for some times past attended the services of the Church, and that he has positively refused to recognize the claims of the Church upon him with reference to aiding in its support.

Treasurer’s report was called for and read.  Amount due and unpaid to date $673.46. On motion the clerk was directed to see the absent stewards and get reports from them on their collections and to offer his assistance to such of them as desired it.

The meeting was adjourned to Tues, June 19th at 6 p.m.”

The following is an excerpt from the Board of Stewards minutes, Oct 8, 1901

“On the motion of Bro. W.S. Brooks, the action taken by the Board on June 12th, relative to charges against Bro. J. T. Holt, was taken up for reconsideration.  On motion the action was then rescinded.”

Morning Prayer of Petition

Holy God, your mercies are new every morning. Allow me to receive and live in your mercy. Today, give me permission to claim:

  • joy instead of shame or guilt,
  • freedom instead of a sense of obligation,
  • rest instead of frantic production,
  • courage instead of debilitating fear,
  • generosity instead of a mindset of scarcity.

May your mercy transform my heart that I may live more fully for you. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Ever-loving God, after a day of distractions and preoccupations, quiet the noise around me so that I can:

  • appreciate the small moments when I felt your presence,
  • name the people who bring me joy,
  • notice the tasks that bring me life,
  • receive the gifts that you are trying to offer me,
  • see the ways my struggles are teaching me.

God, continue to work in my life, that I may love you with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. Amen.
