Morning Prayer of Petition

Holy God, you send your Spirit to rest and anoint your people, to set us apart for your work in the world. Now I set apart a few minutes today to remember the circumstances in which you've placed me. As I go about my day, help me to see the way you've set me apart to:

  • speak words of encouragement to someone around me,
  • offer forgiveness to someone who needs it,
  • notice those in my life who are hurting or suffering,
  • pray for the specific needs of my community and city.

Help me to remember that I am anointed, set apart, and help me to see the opportunities I have today to serve you in the world. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

God of anointing and blessing, you are always working for the good of those who love and serve you. Thank you for the ways that you have showed up for me today, set apart time and space for me to see you. Thank you for:

  • moments of truth and discovery,
  • opportunities you are opening for me,
  • ways that you are teaching me,
  • people that you put around me.

Continue to work in my heart to trust you, to see you at work in my life, and to believe that you can set apart and use me in extraordinary ways. Amen.
