NEWS OF THE CHURCH

Check out this message from Payton & Jane Moore inviting us all to the Outreach Garden this Sunday after our Second Sunday lunch! Jane also shares about the garden and some of the exciting work that has happened over the years!

June Second Sunday

June 9 | 12 pm | Fellowship Hall

Bring a dish to share and enjoy our monthly time of fellowship over a meal! This is a special Second Sunday because after we eat lunch, the Mulberry Outreach Garden is hosting an open house so we can all see the wonderful work that takes place inside. This will be a great opportunity to tour and hear about the garden, so you won't want to miss this Sunday!

Outreach Garden Open House

June 9 | 1-2 pm | Garden

After lunch on Sunday, you're invited to take a tour of the Macon Outreach Garden (on the corner of Walnut St. & New St.)! This is a great chance to see the garden if you've never been before!

Summer Bible Study on Mark

Wednesdays | 5:30-7 pm

This Summer, Payton will be leading a Bible study on the Gospel of Mark! In this six week study, the class will work through Amy Jill Levine’s The Gospel of Mark: A Beginner’s Guide to the Good News. We will closely read the Bible’s earliest account of the life of Jesus with and focus on the book’s major themes and characters, like John the Baptizer, Mark’s Little Apocalypse, and the Transfiguration. The group will meet at the church & on Zoom - email pstone@mulberrymethodist.org to get the Zoom link!

YAMs New Study

On June 11th, the YAMs (the Young Adults at Mulberry) are starting Acts: Catching Up with the Spirit, a six-week study that will explore the major events, themes, and characters in the book of Acts. The group meets every Tuesday at Payton and Mallory Stone’s home. If you or someone you know is interested in joining, let Payton know by email at pstone@mulberrymethodist.org.

Mulberry Book Club - June Meeting

Sunday, June 9 | 10 am | Parlor

June’s selection for the Mulberry Book Group is one sure to help you find joy and hope in the face of life’s hardest obstacles. We’ll be reading Desmond Tutu’s Made for Goodness: And Why This Makes All the Difference, written with his daughter Mpho Tutu. Available from Amazon or your favorite bookseller, this is “a reflection on faith, forgiveness, and reconciliation,” as NPR shared in its review. All are welcome; join us on Sunday, June 9 at 10:00 AM in the Parlor!
