This Sunday! Bring Your Commitment Cards!
Our Stewardship Campaign theme this year is “Moving Into God’s Future.” As part of Stewardship, each of us is invited to make a pledge to support Mulberry Street financially in the coming year. During worship on Stewardship Sunday, we will have the opportunity to turn in our Commitment Cards as an act of worship. You can also submit a digital pledge through Realm, which allows you to easily set up a recurring gift, and track your giving throughout the year. Fill out a digital pledge at: bit.ly/mulpledge25 or by clicking the button below.

A Bicentennial Moment
In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.
The following are excerpts from Rev. Anthony Hearn’s report to the Board of Stewards, November 8, 1951:
“It has been a joy to serve the Church during the past few months and I feel that I have made some real progress in the work but have been disappointed because of the slowness in some phases of it. Since my report of August 3, 1951, I have made 424 pastoral calls with 210 being in hospitals and 214 in homes and places of business. I have preached 31 sermons in the regular services, had 4 communion services. I have conducted 8 funerals, 5 weddings and 2 babies have been baptized.
At our quarterly conference of October 31, we reported the addition of 38 new members and the loss of 60, nine of which were by death. Our present membership is 1,985 active and 394 inactive for a total membership of 2,379.
The week-day kindergarten opened on September 4 with Mrs. R. L. Day, Jr., teacher, and Mrs. Floyd Barfield, assistant, the enrollment is 38.
The committee appointed at the last board meeting to confer with the Pastor on the church’s needs for employed workers and plans for the coming year met, resulting in the proposed budget and items which were present at the called board meeting, October 11. I recommend adoption of that budget. According to present records, we are some bit in advance of the total pledged at this time last year but we are working on an increased budget and it is essential that everyone continue to work persistently at the task. Plans are underway to revive our Boy Scout work. The men’s Club is planning a fine program and meeting on December 5. A District layman’s dinner will be held at Vineville December 13 when Bishop More will speak.
Mulberry was saddened at the recent death of Rev. Silas Johnson, former Pastor and District Superintendent.
The place and influence of a Steward in the church cannot be too strongly emphasized. Your leadership, spirit and example determine the spirit and fruits of the church. You inspire others with your generosity, attitude and loyalty. During the month of October, just passed, the total attendance at the four morning services was 1,945 and the total evening service attendance was 996. In your personal lives as Stewards of the Church of God, you are the “epistles known and read of all men.”

Morning Prayer of Petition
God of truth, you know me inside and out. You see all that I am and all that I've done, and yet you love and claim me. You invite me to come to you as I am, and not as I pretend to be. Today, I pray that you would heal:
- my anger and frustration with those I care about,
- my habits and behaviors that are contrary to your will,
- my neglect of neighbors and those who are hurting in the world,
- my busyness and tendency.
God, may my confession lead not to guilt but to the freedom that comes from your forgiveness. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude
God of grace, for freedom Christ has set me free. Help me not to submit again to the slavery of guilt. Instead, empower me as I claim your permission to:
- let go of regret and shame,
- allow myself a new start,
- experience joy and happiness again,
- no longer be entangled by the expectations and judgements of others.
Each day may I live more fully into the joy that comes from my relationship with you. Amen.
