Day 2. Romans 8:26 (Morning); Psalm 25:9 (Evening)

Day 3. 1 Corinthians 1:25 (Morning); Psalm 61:2 (Evening)

Day 4. 1 Corinthians 2:3 (Morning); Psalm 37:11 (Evening)

Day 5. Matthew 26:41 (Morning); Psalm 35:10 (Evening)

Morning Prayer of Petition

Powerful God, so often I intend and desire to obey you, but fail to live up to those intentions. As Jesus taught, my spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. May your Spirit anoint me today and provide me strength:

  • in areas of life where I am tired and burned out,
  • to tackle the challenges and obstacles that I face,
  • in situations that have no easy solutions,
  • to persevere when I feel like giving up,
  • to love those around me, especially those whom I fid it hard to love.

God, today may I remember that in and through your strength, I can do all things. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Heavenly Father, you remind me that when I am weak, there I'm strong. Each day I try to lean more into the truth of what this means. Help me not to hide from weakness but in gratitude to:

  • claim the parts of me of which I am embarrassed or ashamed
  • see how weakness can be a source of strength,
  • notice the help you provide in and around me,
  • receive your permission to not be perfect all the time.

Work in my weakness, that your strength may be known in my life. Amen.
