Dinner starts at 5:30 and worship begins at 6:15 in the Fellowship Hall.

Vacation Bible School 2025

Join us June 16-20 as we go on a Road Trip on the Go with God! Together with the Navigator and his buddy Scout, kids will learn that God is always with them, based on Joshua 1:9 – “The LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Discover God’s presence everywhere as we explore new places, make new friends, and experience God’s goodness together. Contact Elisa Reece with questions or to volunteer! Link to register below.

A Bicentennial Moment

In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.

Below are excerpts from the Administrative Board Meeting, October 23, 1971:

“A dinner meeting was held in the Fellowship Hall which was attended by member of the Administrative Board and their wives and escorts.  A number of the past Chairmen of the Board and their wives were also present as special guests.

After dinner, Mike McAfee introduced the Wesleyan Washboard Band, which entertained the gathering with fun and songs.  A brief business meeting was then conducted with Dr. Ridley presiding.  The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved. Written reports of the Committee on Finances, Sacraments, and Parsonage Committee are attached.  Tim Couch announced details on the Halloween Carnival, October 29th, to be sponsored by the youth of the church.  Dr. Hancock gave the Pastor’s Report and noted the following:

  1. All conference obligations for the calendar year apparently will be met.
  2. Mulberry had the largest number enrolled and to receive certificates at the recent Christian Enrichment School held at Vineville Church.
  3. The Lay Institute of Evangelism will meet at Epworth November 1 through 3.
  4. Committee on Evangelism is working on a geographical division of the church membership.

Dr. Ridley personally presented Certificates of Appreciation to living past chairmen of the administrative board.  James Thompson announced his resignation from the Board due to job transfer.  The meeting was closed with a benediction by Dr. Hancock.

Respectfully submitted,

James A. Berg, Secretary”

"The Saints of Mulberry" Recipes

As part of Mulberry's Bicentennial Celebrations in 2026, we are sharing recipes from some of the saints of Mulberry's past.

Becky Donovan's Chicken in White Wine and Yogurt Sauce

  • 4 chicken breasts, split and skinned
  • 4 tbsp margarine
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 C. chicken bouillon
  • 3/4 C. low-fat yogurt
  • 1/4 C. white wine
  • 2 tsp grated lemon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 C. sliced mushrooms

Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt 2 tablespoons margarine in shallow 9x12" baking pan. Place chicken breasts in pan. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes. Meanwhile, melt remaining margarine in saucepan; add flour and cook briefly, stirring. Add bouillon, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and smooth. Add yogurt, wine, lemon rind, salt and pepper, stirring until blended. Remove pan from oven. Turn each chicken breast. Cover each with sliced mushrooms and pour sauce over all. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes, until tender. Serve garnished with lemon twist or sprig of parsley. Makes 8 servings. Easy.

Morning Prayer of Petition

Holy God, it is for freedom that you have set me free. Loosen my grip on:

  • habits that lead me away from you;
  • words that diminish other people,
  • busyness that neglects your daily presence,
  • selfishness that prevents generosity,
  • behaviors that hurt others and myself.

Forgive me today and help me to live in your holiness. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude

Holy God, though high above all things, you enter into my life to save me and restore me to your goodness. Open my eyes to see:

  • how you are guiding me,
  • how you are speaking to me through others,
  • how you are empowering me to leave behind old behaviors,
  • how you are directing me to new things.

When I fail, I pray that you would pick me up and help me to walk in the way that leads to life. Amen.
