Paul & Team Rossy Rays - Kintyre 2014
Paul Mulderrig is saddling up for the Rossy Rays

This coming May our managing director Paul Mulderrig will be taking on 'The Coniston 10,000' cycle ride in a bid to raise funds for Rossendale Rays Special Needs Swim Club.

Mulderrigs have been supporting the Rays swim club for the best part of a decade and this will be the tenth time Paul has teamed up with a group of local volunteers to take on a cycling challenge.

This year the the team will be riding the monstrous lakeland fells of Coniston across three days and with over 10,000 feet of climbing!

The Rossendale Rays charity provides family friendly swim sessions for members with varying special needs. The club meets every Sunday and there are usually 40 people in the water every week!

£7000 success for cyclist in pot hole claim

Mulderrigs recently settled a claim on behalf of a client who was injured in a cycling accident which was not his fault.

Mr Dockett was cycling his daily commute to work in London when he hit a sunken manhole cover and was thrown from his bicycle.

The impact broke the front forks off Mr Dockett's bike and as a result he was thrown face first into the road.

The accident left Mr Docket with fractures to his eye-socket.

When Mulderrigs took on Mr Dockett's claim the local council said that their inspectors did not deem the manhole cover to be a hazard and refused to accept liability for the accident.

Mulderrigs enlisted the help of an expert engineer who disagreed and felt strongly that the council should have fixed the manhole. Despite this, the council still refused to admit liability.

Due to the council's stubborness, Mr Dockett's case was set to got to a trial. However, on the day the case was due to be heard in court, the council reached out to Mulderrigs and agreed to pay our client £7000 in compensation plus all legal fees.
