CONGRATULATIONS to the Benson Foundation for the Arts (BFA)for being selected as the Benson Chamber’s Business of the Week. The BFA was formed with the support of the Benson town government. The first project was the revitalization of the Benson High School Auditorium (303 E. Church St. – Benson), with the goal of providing a facility to accommodate the cultural and civic needs of the area. A not-for-profit status was granted to the BFA in 1989, and with the aid of grant monies and donations from generous citizens, the W. J. Barefoot Auditorium was dedicated in the fall of 1993. In 1997, a BFA committee was appointed to organize the first Children’s Summer Theatre Workshop and, later, a community theatre group. The first production was “Lil’ Abner” in the spring of 2000. Since that time, the BFA has sponsored many programs including The Sound of Music, Steel Magnolia, The King and I, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Oliver, Oklahoma, Benson’s Got Talent, Cinderella, Annie, 9 to 5 and many more. In addition to their seasonal productions and summer workshops for youth, the BFA sponsors a scholarship each year to a local high school senior pursuing higher education towards a career in performing or visual arts. You Have Questions. We Have Answers.
Where are your customers? Where should you advertise? What do other businesses like yours pay their employees? What benefits should I offer to retain my employees? What's the turnover rate for companies like mine? These questions used to be difficult to find the answer. Previously data like this had been behind a paywall, or only available to big businesses. Now, thanks to SizeUp Johnston County the answer to these questions are available to you. The Benson Chamber, along with Clayton Chamber, has joined the Triangle East Chamber to offer this program to our members.
