Chiron & Wisdom
Chiron Transits Aries
Chiron is now transiting Aries for the next 8 years, after spending the last roughly 8 years in Pisces. If you have a lot of planets or angles in the cardinal signs of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries, you might have an initiation into an important aspect of spiritual understanding during this time.
In myth, Chiron was taught healing
at the highest levels,
but when we got wounded,
he could not heal himself.
For those on self-healing journey, you can heal, you can overcome the power of wounding in your unconscious to live a life renewed of purpose and vision, free of the bondage of wounding. But, those healed wounds leave a scar and you can be brought back into their energy and feel them, though they no longer have power over you.
This is the paradoxical nature of healing at a spiritual level. These are the aspects of your internal state that have instructed your greatest lessons in life and formed your wisdom, but the scars always remain.
While in Pisces, Chiron might have made you feel more vulnerable or just more aware of those soft, vulnerable places inside you. Pisces is that place of few boundaries where you are energetically most exposed to the world around you. That exposure and the hopes you have for an idealized way of seeing the world around you (how you want the world to be) can lead to the vulnerable places inside you feeling crushed or squeezed.
Hence, your needs for self-protection might be more exposed when Chiron is in Pisces when you feel exposed to the harsher energies of the world that you are powerless to affect. Circumstances in life cause you to reflect on the scars related to times when
you experienced wounding trying to do something good
no matter how simple or how grand.
Now that Chiron is in Aries (ruled by Mars), you move away from thoughts of the collective and the ways that your Piscean ideals of perfection touch a soft and vulnerable place inside to understanding parts of you that need healing so that you can stand up and take instinctual action in the world. Mars is the ruler of Aries and Aries is about confident action that is based on instinct. Energy must be expressed in Aries and often Mars takes action without thinking. Mars is not a patient energy. Chiron’s Wisdom grows with patience. Already you can sense the challenge.
As a result, there can be a bit of collateral damage left in Mars’ wake. While Chiron is in Aries, your wisdom might get bruised and bashed around a bit.
For example, the scar inside could be remembering times when you just had to take action and the burst of energy associated with that action caused unintended consequences or was strictly opposed by authority figures in our world.
How to hang on to your wisdom and ensure that it does not get violated as you act out in the world. This is a me focused energy.
When your actions instinctually serve you, the paradox is that others might not be served. The wisdom arises when you know you need to act and you are patient so that your wisdom keeps pace with the actions.
This movement from Pisces to Aries is a movement from boundless, idealistic, collective engagement to self-focused, instinctual, action you must take.
In April, both Jupiter and Saturn are going to turn retrograde. Jupiter will turn retrograde in Sagittarius – the sign he rules. Likewise, Saturn will turn retrograde in Capricorn – the sign he rules. We get to dance with Jupiter and Saturn in their natural signs as we revisit the lessons they have just taught us. More on this in the next newsletter.
Before Jupiter and Saturn go retrograde, Mercury will turn around and play games with our technology, plans, communications and calendars. In Pisces, his tricks may be boundless so just roll with it and recognize that there is always more than one way to look at anything!
