Hello BIC brothers and sisters!

We have some exciting pieces of news to share this month, so let’s jump right in. In this issue you’ll find:

Scripture Meditation

I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. … I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. …

Ecclesiastes 3:9-14 (selected)

Multiplica

Our Theme for General Assembly 2026

July 24-26 | Miami

About 10 years ago, we started designating a theme for each General Assembly to focus the attention of that gathering and capture a moment in our history.

In 2026, our theme will be Multiplica, Spanish for “multiply.” This is the first time Spanish has been used for the theme for General Assembly, and we did this for two key reasons:

  1. Multiplica captures the energy and growth the BIC U.S. is experiencing in Spanish-language congregations across the United States.

  2. It is directly tied to the Project 250 priority of multiplying missional congregations, movements, and leaders.

As Jesus ascended into heaven, he told his disciples that they would be his witnesses locally and globally. (Acts 1:8) Likewise, our congregations are called to impact and invest in their own communities – and General Assembly 2026 will invite us to explore ways to strengthen and multiply our leaders, congregations, and ministries so that people will be drawn into a lifelong relationship of knowing, loving, and following Jesus.

We hope to see you there!

The Power of Time, Interest, and Investment

4 examples of how continued contributions and compounding interest are powerful tools for the future of the children in your life

When the BIC Foundation launched Youth Savings Certificates (YSC) in August 2024, they not only hoped to generate curiosity in the certificates themselves but also to see the custodians who opened the certificates contribute to them regularly, facilitating long-term future growth for those minors in their lives.

Whether these kids need the funds for college, trade school, a vehicle, a service trip, or some other use, the goal is to create a solid position from which they can start their adult lives.

Now, you may be thinking, “I really don’t have the extra funds needed to see significant long-term growth. Don’t you need lots of money to invest?”

In the latest article on bicfoundation.org, they debunk that myth and show you just how much of a difference small, consistent contributions can make. They lay out 4 examples to show just how powerful long term, continued contribution and monthly compounding can be.

This is neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation of an offer to buy the investments described herein. A Vision for Multiplication Movement

Creating pathways for new movements and leaders

As the BIC U.S. family approaches its 250th anniversary, a key priority is multiplying missional congregations, movements, and leaders (priority 3 of Project 250).

While disciple-making and church planting have long been central to our identity, there is renewed momentum to expand our witness and carry out Jesus’ Great Commission.

In 2024, denominational leaders, pastors, and planters gathered to discern how to invest in Spirit-led, strategic multiplication, forming a working group to research and shape a proposal.

That proposal, outlined on our website, was approved by the Leadership Council in September. It represents the fruit of that gathering and working group, charting a path forward for the future.

Anler Morejon was part of that working group and is a BIC church planter, currently pastoring Zion Church in Miramar, Fla. He invites all in the BIC to participate in this work:

"It's time to echo the words of the prophet Isaiah: 'Here I am. Send me.' Join us in this Holy Spirit-led church multiplication movement focused on disciple making.”
