Shouldn't every year be a year of Evangelism?"
"Aren't we supposed to make disciples every year?"
"Why do we need a year of anything?"
These are questions I hear asked when talking about placing emphasis on a specific theme for a season. Yet, while it is true that we are called to be engaged in mission, outreach, evangelism, disciple-making, and church planting every year, for some reason when a special emphasis is given and we work together and support each other to achieve something big for God, we end up doing much better!

Plant1000 is a bold and unprecedented vision of collaboration in church planting. The North American Division, General Conference, Conferences, and Unions will partner with our local churches and invest to help fund 1000 community churches from 2016 to 2020. We envision 200 Community Church Plants, each year, for the next five years. The funds set aside to support 200 Community Church Plants per year are $10,000.00 per Church Plant, in collaboration with the General Conference, Unions, and Conferences (NAD $2,500 / GC $2,500 / Union $2,500 / Conference $2,500) - Each Conference will select its church plants to be funded.

Today, there is a celebration in Heaven and in our Deer Valley Church! One more soul has publicly surrendered her life to Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord! #deervalleysda #northwestdistrict #welcometothefamily
Bonnie grew up Adventist but left the church at 19. Eighteen months ago a baptism stirred something in her heart. She, her husband, Barry, an ordained minister, and their nephew Tim, began studying the Bible with Pastor Lynnwood Spangler. This weekend they committed their lives to Christ through baptism. "What a joy to see new souls bring others to the baptistery," shares Spangler. Please join us in welcoming them to the Gettysburg church family and in praying for Tim who leave for boot camp on Monday. #reachingeveeryoneeverywhere #unitedtogetherwefulfillthemission
Jeff Hellwig left the Seventh-day Adventist Church years ago. He recently attended evangelistic meetings held at the Tunkhannock Seventh-day Adventist Church by Pastor Tom Cusack. At the end of the sessions, Jeff chose to be baptized. On the day of his baptism, he received a phone call from home asking him to not follow through. Jeff wasn't detered. "He's been on fire ever since," shares Cusack. "He's often sharing stories at church about his literature and Bible study outreach while driving his truck and has been attending the New Member's Class on Sabbath mornings. He's assisted in teaching and asked if he could preach in the near future. He's a blessing to our church." #tunkhannocksda #baptism #evangelism

1-Parents Night Out: Provide free or low-cost childcare so that moms and dads can spend an evening alone. Promote it to the church and to the community as well.
2-Love Bible Studies: Guide your small groups to cover love and relationship issues for a few weeks. There are plenty of resources out there for things like this, and people always need relationship help.
3-Memorable Marriage Moments: Allow a few couples with lasting marriages a chance to share some of their stories and secrets during your February services or through video testimonies on your website or social networks.
4-Love a Family: Choose a specific family or group of families to love with action and use this day to gather volunteers, resources, or finances to help the family with whatever needs they might have.
5-Decorate cupcakes for seniors. This idea is great if you have a significant number of seniors in your church or if you decide to visit a nursing home. You could bake or solicit unfrosted cupcakes from the parents and involve the adventurers and pathfinders in decorating them. Bring some frosting, sprinkles, cupcake boxes or small plates. Ask each child to frost a cupcake and sign a Valentine card. Give those items to the seniors!
6-Romantic Dinner. Your Family Ministries can oversee a romantic dinner in your church and invite couples from your church and community to participate. Provide a good meal, some games and activities for the couples or perhaps a renewing of vows.
7-Friendship Day. Have a special friendship day during Sabbath worship. Have your members to invite their friends to come and invite church's friends who haven't been in church for a while. Preach about friendship and have a special lunch following the service to get to know the new friends.

North America Wants Your Articles, Photos, & Videos
In the months to come we would like to publish, celebrate, pray for, and spread what God is doing through you. North America would love to see your evangelism and outreach stories, photos, and videos.
Send us articles, photos, and videos of your Best Practices in Evangelism & Outreach (traditional & innovative): Small Groups, Compassion initiatives, Church Planting, Public Evangelism, outreach in public university campuses, life-changing stories of churches who love people and grow organically, youth and young adult outreach, health fairs, community outreach initiatives, and anything that has to do with Reaching, Retaining, and Reclaiming North America with a lifestyle and a message of Compassion, Hope, and Wholeness.
When writing, keep in mind that we are looking for practice more than theory. The Why, the What, the Who, and the How to, are vital for Pastors and Churches who will want to adapt and duplicate your initiatives and plans in their setting (keep articles between 300-700 words) and submit to
