With a 13 vote difference on election day, the community has been anxiously awaiting the results of the mail in votes postmarked by April 4. To view the results click here. It appears that Mayor Steve Lentz is ahead by 5 votes.  I don't know if there will be a recount, but wanted you to have the election results.

Grand Dominion Car Show to Benefit Fremont Food Pantry
Every year the Grand Dominion community hosts an incredible car show event to benefit the Fremont Township Food Pantry.  Mark your calendars for August 20th and if you have a classic ride be a part of the 9th Annual Car Show hosted by Grand Dominion by Del Webb Community Association.  Auto enthusiasts can display their classic rides and help raise funds for the Fremont Food Pantry. This outdoor event will feature music, food, activities, contests and fun for the entire family! Hope to see you there!!!!

Is Your Pet Micro Chipped?
Is your pet micro chipped?  Take a few minutes today to find your pet's microchip information. Is it buried in a filing cabinet somewhere? Dig it out!

Make sure you know the brand of microchip, the microchip number and the 1-800 phone number for the company. Call the company to ensure that all of your information is up to date. Have you moved? Or dropped your landline? Next, enter your pet's microchip information and the company's phone number into your phone so that you have it handy if he/she goes missing. Be smart and be prepared!

Is The State of Illinois Holding Your Money?

The State Treasurer is holding 2.5 billion dollars in unclaimed funds for Illinoisans. The State holds these lost funds until they are claimed by either the original owner or their heirs. Property is returned at no cost with the proper identification.

Forty-year Fremont Township resident Mary Ann Beatty, and her sister, international opera star Joanna Porackova, will soon be giving the Chicago-area performances of their concert series "TOGETHER AT LAST--Sisters in Life, Sisters in Song":

  • Sunday, April 23, 2:00 p.m., The Church of the Holy Spirit, (Episcopal),  400 E. Westminster, Lake Forest, IL
These concerts mark the first time that these two women have ever sung together as adults.  Music will include beloved duets, arias, and songs from the Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary Periods of Music.   Mark your calendars now and join the sisters in their celebration of the gift of music.
Recycle Your Car Seat at Target
From April 17th through April 30th, you have the opportunity to recycle your old car seat at participating Target locations! To participate, simply bring your old car seat to the designated Target Take Back recycling area at a participating Target store.

All car seat brands are accepted for recycling. In return for recycling your car seat, you will earn a 20% discount on a new car seat. More info click here

Donate Diapers to Fremont Township
We accept diaper donations for children and adults. If you have diapers you are no longer in need of, please consider donating them to Fremont Township. We do accept open bags.

If you are aware of Fremont Township residents  in need of diapers,( children or adult)  please have them contact our office at 847 223-2847 .

We Will Accept Yarn

If you have yarn you won't use, we will gladly accept it for people who make hats, scarves, mittens and baby blankets for those in need.  Just drop it at our office.

If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  You can drop them off in the bin on our front porch. 

Fremont Township recycles shoes year round.  You will find a bin on our front porch.  If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.  

We also accept eyeglasses and American Flags.
 

Did you know 85 percent of clothing ends up in the landfill? Bring your new, gently used, and used clothing to be reused or recycled.

Senior citizens in the Mundelein High School District are invited to participate in the Super Seniors Activities program at no charge to you. Super Seniors attend dinner events, school plays, music concerts, and art shows.The next event is Thursday, April 27, 2017. Dinner at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria followed by the spring musical: "City of Angels"  They start taking reservations approximately four weeks before the event. Reservations are made by calling 847-949-2200 ext. 1266 and leaving the name, address and phone number of each senior citizen who is attending. 
Double Tree is hosting their annual Sip & Shop on April 27th.  4:30 PM - 7 PM
Still a few openings left!  The AARP Defensive Driving Course will be held on May 11 and May 12 from 9:00 am til 1:00 pm. You must attend both days.  Call Nancy at 847 223-2847 to register. $15.00 for AARP members and $20.00 for non AARP members.

The cruise nighst specialize in pre-1977 vehicles only. By limiting attendants to classic cars, the event draws some of the finest vehicles in the area. They offer an organized event that has something for owners and spectators alike.

Save the Date!  The US Postmaster Food Drive is May 13, 2017  Please place donated food items by your mailbox.  This food drive benefits the Fremont Township Food Pantry.
A-May-Zing Mundelein Volunteers Needed This event occurs in the month of May and solicits the assistance of area volunteers who help senior citizens with household chores which may be difficult or impossible for them to handle on their own. It brings people together and shows the true meaning of a community. Many tasks that are accomplished include washing windows, cleaning gutters, mowing lawns, moving heavy/awkward items, etc.

The 2017 event date is May 20, 2017. Contact Jenni House at 847-968-3770 for more information.
