Weekly Update

Munford FUMC Friends,

This Sunday we welcome Tondola Haywood into the pulpit where you will get to hear her contagious passion for the Good News and love of God’s people. Look forward to hearing about and celebrating one of our wonderful campus ministries, the Memphis Wesley. If you are looking for a place to belong, join us for worship

Tondola's sermon title this week is The More We Gather Together, The Happier We' Will be and our scriptures this week are from Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43(click here to read them).

We hope you will join us and bring a friend to share with them all the great things that are happening at Munford FUMC.

When you pray, pray for these:

It is important that we continue to pray for one another, for our leaders, our ministry partners, and for our world during this time. Please remember to hold these individuals and their families in your prayers.

Volunteer with the Munford FUMC Youth Group!

The Munford FUMC Youth Group has experienced much growth over 2022 and is in need of volunteers to support this ministry. We are in need of volunteers in many areas, from providing dinner for our youth to leading small groups, to walking with students from the middle school to the church; there are many ways in which your gifts can be used! If you are interested in helping share God's love with these students, you can sign up by the youth room or talk to Tracey Capelety.

Thank you for investing in the students of Munford FUMC

July's recommended reading:

No Man is an Island

While in college at UT Martin, I was introduced to "No Man Is An Island" by Thomas Merton. It began as a college student reading group with my pastor at First UMC in Martin, Rev. Randy Cooper. Merton was a Catholic Monk at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. Merton writes with gentleness and compassion, in a way that the book should be read slowly, and not rushed. He writes honest reflections on his own struggles with faith, loneliness, and hope. Merton is a brilliant change of pace for us who seem to rush from thing to thing and place to place in this life. If you are looking for a quiet, slow, reflective read, please check it out!
