The Municipality of Brighton has officially begun the initial phase of its visual identity refresh. This initiative aims to modernize the municipality’s corporate brand while thoughtfully reflecting its past, present, and bright future.

Working alongside Kitchener-based branding agency The Blondes, municipal staff will work closely with community members and community representatives through an extensive consultation process.

The initiative to pursue a visual identity refresh was approved by Council during the 2025 Operating Budget, as the current logo has been in use since the amalgamation in January 2001.

Community members will have the opportunity to participate in the consultation process at the following in-person engagement booths:

  • July 13 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Codrington Farmers' Market (2992 County Road 30)
  • July 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Concerts in the Park (Memorial Park, Downtown Brighton)

In addition to these in-person engagement booths, hard copies of the survey will be available at the Municipal Centre and Brighton Public Library (35 Alice Street), King Edward Park Arena (75 Elizabeth Street), the Municipal Public Works Building (67 Sharp Road), and at Brighton By The Bay (8 Mills Rd).

Complete the online survey.

The survey will close on July 25, 2025.

The new logo will be officially unveiled in January 2026.

To enhance public safety and protect vulnerable road users in community safety zones and school zones, the Municipality of Brighton will officially begin its Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) program on July 14, 2025.

On that date, a “Camera in Use” sign will be installed to inform motorists that the camera is now active. The automated system will capture and record the rate of speed the motor vehicle is travelling in the School Zone along Elizabeth Street and will automatically issue tickets to the registered plate holder of the vehicle regardless of who was driving. Demerit points will not be applied. The letter of citation will be mailed to the registered vehicle owner.

The program was introduced on April 15, 2025, with a 90-day notification period during which no citations were issued, even if vehicles were travelling above the posted speed limit. In April of 2024, “Municipal Speed Camera Coming Soon” signs were installed in the School Zone along Elizabeth Street to provide advance notice to the community.

The Automated Speed Enforcement program aligns with the Municipality of Brighton’s strategic goal of enhancing public safety by creating safe and comfortable streets for everyone on or near Municipality of Brighton roadways.

To learn more about the Automated Speed Enforcement program, including a section of Frequently Asked Questions, please visit our website or phone (613) 475 – 0670 ex. 208.

The Municipality of Brighton is undertaking a 21-day Public Consultation period to seek public input regarding a proposed Cat Control By-Law.
