News and Notices

On April 30, alongside community partners, the Municipality of Brighton proudly unveiled its new logo and refreshed brand, celebrating the people, places and shared values that defines Brighton. The new brand reflects both the spirit of the Brighton community and the organization that serves it.

The refreshed brand will provide a consistent and recognizable visual identity across municipal services, communications, and community spaces, strengthening how Brighton is represented both locally and beyond.

With the new brand officially launched, the next phase will focus on thoughtful integration across municipal marketing, communications, and public-facing materials. The Municipality’s approach will be steady and strategic, starting with high-visibility touchpoints and expanding gradually.

The initiative to pursue a visual identity refresh was approved by Council during the 2025 Operating Budget.

Economic Development and Communications

April brought a welcome return of improved weather, along with renewed excitement and optimism in the Municipality of Brighton. Our team has been busy supporting local businesses as they prepare for the spring and summer season, while continuing to promote Brighton as a great place to invest, visit, and live.

We hosted a variety of meaningful events, including the 15th annual Mayors’ Keep the County Clean Challenge, the Sports and Recreation Showcase , the Volunteer Recognition Event and the launch of our new municipal branding. Looking ahead to May, our focus will remain on business outreach, tourism planning, and preparing for a busy calendar of community events such as the season opening of the Codrington Farmers' Market, May 3rd.

As many residents are now aware, construction has resumed on the County Road 64/Prince Edward Street Project, which has entered Phase 3 (the most extensive phase of the project). This phase includes the closure of Prince Edward Street between Elizabeth Street and Harbour Street at various times throughout the next six months. Detours will impact private property owners as well as local businesses, especially those along Loyalist Drive and within the Sharp Road Industrial Park. We encourage residents to follow the posted detour routes and continue supporting our local businesses by shopping locally throughout the construction period.

Ben Hagerman
