Morris Township is among seven Morris County towns that have ranked in the top 100 Safest Communities in the Nation, according to Safewise.

The SafeWise annual national security review, listed Mount Olive ( #12 ), Washington Township ( #24 ), Jefferson Township ( #28 ), Randolph ( #33 ), Roxbury ( #40 ), Denville ( #46 ) and Morris Township ( #69 ) as towns that are the safest place to live in the U.S.

“This is an opportunity to recognize police officers, city officials, and neighborhood watch leaders for their efforts. It’s a great chance to shine a light on a municipalities continuing commitment to public safety,” said Safewise Communications Manager Sage Singleton.

As part of's annual rankings, Morris Township was recently named the No. 98 community to raise a family in New Jersey.

Morris Township received an overall grade of A+ with categories of "Good for Families" and "Health and Fitness" . The township received scores of A for "Outdoor Activities"; A- for "Nightlife" and "Public Schools"; B+ for "Jobs" and "Commute"; B for "Housing" and "Crime and Safety". The township's lowest score is a C for "Cost of Living".
