In observance of Thanksgiving Day, November 25, the Department of Public Works will be closed, and no collection services will take place. Below you will find the trash and recycling schedule for the week of Nov 22- Nov 26.

Wed, Nov 24: Wednesday Trash & Recycling 
Thurs, Nov 25: No Collection

Leaf Collection Program
The annual Leaf Collection Program is provided from October to December. We cannot predict specific collection days for your street but updates are sent out through the Municipal Messenger, the Websites "News Flash" and the Department of Public Works Calendar Click here to find your sector.

We ask residents to place materials out for collection utilizing the guidelines below.

Acceptable Materials and Guidelines for Curbside Placement:
-All materials must be placed along the curb line, not in the street, and kept 10 feet from all storm drains
-Only leaves, grass, and plant vegetation may be combined in a pile together
-All materials should be placed loosely along the curb (no bags, paper or plastic)
-Do not place brush in leaf piles
Unacceptable Materials:
-Brush, dirt, logs, tree parts, tree stumps, & tree trunks

Set clocks behind 1hr. and test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors -- replace batteries if needed.

Safeguard Your Vehicle
Vehicles are stolen for a variety of reasons, including theft for parts, insurance fraud, retagging, exporting, & joy riding. Help prevent theft & damage to your vehicle:

-Always lock and secure your vehicle, including putting your windows up
-Always activate your alarm when you leave your vehicle
-Never leave keys in your vehicle
-Never leave valuables in your vehicle, including items such as a GPS, cell phone, laptop, tablet, or charging cord

Keep in mind suspects on previous occasions have used garage door openers located in the vehicles to open the garage door to allow access to other vehicles and the home.

Please Keep Leaves Off Streets & Out of Storm Drains
In order to comply with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Storm Water Regulations, during the curbside leaf collection period (Oct to Mid- December), leaves/ grass clipping/plant waste are to be placed in neat piles at the curb(edge of your property), not on the pavement/street nor less 10 ft. from a storm drain (catch basin) for collection.
