Men's Golf Wins Program's First District Championship

The men's golf team dominated the field at the South Central District Championship this week. The Aggies claimed the program's first district championship with a 32-stroke victory. The win also gave the Aggies their fourth consecutive tournament victory.

With the win, Murray State College qualified for the 2024 NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship. The tournament will run from May 21-24 at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in Joplin, Missouri.

Mullens Wins Coach of the Year

Coach Aaron Mullens was voted the Region 2 Coach of the Year for a second consecutive season.

Mullens led the Lady Aggies to a perfect 28-0 record in Region 2 play and a 2024 Southwest Plains Tournament Championship. The Lady Aggies will compete in the NJCAA DII Softball World Series May 20-25 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Lady Aggies Win Southwest Plains Tournament; Clinch Berth in NJCAA DII World Series

The Murray State College softball team dominated the Southwest Plains Tournament over the four days of competition. The Lady Aggies went a perfect 4-0 including three run-rule victories to claim the Championship.

Murray State College will now advance to the NJCAA DII Softball World Series!

Murray State College, Ardmore Hosts Region 2 Softball Tournament

Mayor of Ardmore, Nancy Sjulin; Chamber President, Bill Murphy; Chamber Chief Operations Officer, Marthanna Donald; and Murray State College President, Dr. Tim Faltyn, presented Region 2 Women’s Director Jerod McCormick (middle) with a banner showing their appreciation to the Region 2 Committee for selecting Ardmore to host the 2024 Southwest Plains Softball Tournament.

Seven Lady Aggies Claim All-Region Team

Seven Murray State College softball players earned All-Region 2 Honors for their tremendous season on the field.

Bradi Harman headlined the Murray State College softball team as she was named Region 2 Player of the Year, while Shaylin Midgley, Kennedy Lord, Haili Igou, Courtney Grey, Karsyn York and Dara Hamlin were named to the All-Region Team.

Concurrent Students Presented with Graduation Cords & Scholarships

Murray State College Online Dean Amy McCain presented cords and scholarships to concurrent students at Madill High School.

Murray State Academic Team vs. Faculty Team Competition

The Murray State College Academic Team scrimmaged the faculty members in two games. The first was purely academic, while the second was pop culture only.

The Academic Team won both games, but the faculty kept them close, including getting out to a big lead early in the first game. The second game came down to the final question, with the Academic Team answering it correctly.

SouthernTech Award Recipients

Plainview High School students Dylann Baker (middle left) and Robby Surber (middle right) received the Rotary awards.

Dylann received the "Service Above Self" Ardmore Rotary scholarship. Robby was named the Ardmore Rotary Club's Student of the month.

Both students plan to attend Murray State.

Murray State Bass Fishing Team Member Speaks at Local High School

Brezlyn Hightower of the Murray State College Bass Fishing Team took time out of his day to speak to the members of the Choctaw High School Bass Fishing Club.

Softball/Baseball Sophomore Day

The Murray State College Baseball and Softball teams celebrated their Sophomores during their Sophomore Day games this past weekend.

The baseball team finished the season 30-23.

The softball team put together a perfect season in region play as the Lady Aggies went 28-0 against Region 2 competition!

The Lady Aggies will compete in the Southwest Plains Tournament this weekend in Ardmore for a chance to advance to the NJCAA Division 2 World Series.
