Murray State College welcomed the valued donors and stakeholders for the Westheimer Southern Oklahoma Nursing Education Center (SONEC) to celebrate the successful funding of this significant project. This event allowed Murray State College to present its architectural design vision and reveal the eagerly awaited groundbreaking date scheduled for April 8, 2025.

"Murray State is strongest when our partners come together to support growth initiatives for our students and communities. The Westheimer SONEC will be a hub of innovation for nursing education for all of southern Oklahoma. The Murray State College Men's Golf Team dominated the final round of Bruzzy's Spring Fling Golf Tournament to win by ten strokes. Shashank Koirala also took home the individual title as he beat the field by six strokes.

The Murray State College Women's Golf Team claimed third place in the tournament.

The tournament was held at Dornick Hills Golf Course in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Approximately 1,050 students and 70 counselors from 59 schools visited Murray State College for the 48th annual scholastic invitational contest. Teams competed in various events covering topics such as math, science, English, history and art.

Murray State College President Dr. Tim Faltyn welcomed the high school counselors, teachers and staff while the students began their contests.

Students were able to enjoy their down time between contests by playing games, relaxing in the gardens and studying.

Murray State College and SouthernTech signed an MOU to create a pathway from SouthernTech's Basic Peace Officer Certification Program to Murray State College's Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Option.

The program will include academic courses, hands-on training and career development support.

Murray State College held a sophomore night to honor this year's sophomore basketball players as their regular seasons end.

The women's basketball team cut down the net to celebrate their Region 2 Championship.

Che Deer, Murray State College Horticulture Instructor, and Amy Seiger with the Chickasaw Nation conducted a joint presentation at the Oklahoma Local Agriculture Collaborative (OLAC) meeting.

Their discussion focused on marketing agricultural commodities in the pecan and specialty crop sectors. They examined the opportunities available to local producers through the Climate Smart Commodities and Market Development initiative under the joint grant awarded to the Chickasaw Nation and Murray State College.

Murray State College, in collaboration with Keep Oklahoma Beautiful, hosted the Pennington Creek Cleanup. This event offered a chance for students, faculty, staff, and community members to unite in making a positive impact and maintaining a clean environment.

Murray State College employees attended the Atoka County Chamber of Commerce Denim and Diamonds Gala.

Murray State College faculty and staff attended the MORE Foundation's Get Smart Trivia Night. This event is centered around raising money to provide scholarships to Carter County high school graduates.

Murray State College NICHE hosted the Third Annual Aggie Gras, a Mardi Gras celebration that included a crawfish boil and a mechanical bull contest.

Murray State College hosted a luncheon to celebrate International Women's Day. The event featured panelists Susan Pfau Yeager, Dr. Rebecca Jacobs-Pollez, and Kristi Robnett. They shared their insights on achieving professional success as women and offered empowering advice to young women.

Murray State College in Tishomingo hosted a career and transfer fair, connecting students with various career and educational opportunities.

Murray State College in Ardmore hosted a blood drive allowing students, faculty and staff to donate to a good cause.

The Murray State College Bass Fishing Team competed at the Major League Fishing Tournament against 157 teams from across the nation. Sam Stter and Shaden Farley took home the win.

Two Murray State teams qualified for the 2026 National Tournament.

The No. 19 Murray State College Women's Basketball Team won the Region 2 regular season title by finishing the regular season at 15-1 in region play.

For the fourth time in the last five weeks, Murray State College Softball Pitcher Isabella Hardeman was named the Region 2 Pitcher of the Week. Hardeman's most dominant performance came against SAU Tech when she struck out ten batters in only five innings to earn the complete-game victory of, 11-0.

For the second time this season, Murray State College Softball Player, Brylee Fanning, was named the Region 2 Player of the Week.

Murray State College Baseball Player, Junho Son, was named the Region 2 Player of the Week.

Murray State College welcomes Dre Ricardson from Creekview High School as the first singer for the Murray State College Wrestling Team.

Murray State College Rodeo Team members made it to the Championship Round of the Fort Scott NIRA College Rodeo.

Case Phillips finished 3rd overall in the team roping championship against 87 teams.

McKenna Rogers placed 4th overall against 153 barrel racers.

The Lady Aggies recorded four run-rule victories to beat the Rockets and outscored SAU Tech, 54-2, making a clean sweep of their first region 2 series of the season.

The Murray State College Baseball Team made quick work of Dallas College-Brookhaven as they coasted to a 17-6 victory.

Murray State College Cross Country team members recently took time to read to students at Tishomingo Elementary School in celebration of Dr. Seuss Week.

This week's Student-Athlete Spotlight belongs to William Day. William is a freshman from Summerfield, Oklahoma.

He is an accounting major and a member of the Murray State College Academic Team.
