Murray State Provides Support for Michelin Employees

Murray State College has stepped in to help some of the workers who will lose their jobs.


A little more than one million dollars in scholarships have been set aside to help Michelin employees, as well as subcontractors, if what they want to do is find another career.

President Faltyn addressed Governor Anoatubby and members of the Johnston County Industrial Authority during a special meeting.

Academic Team Wins Snow Bowl

The Murray State Academic Team won the Snow Bowl at Garden City Community College in Kansas last weekend.


Kanyon Beck was the tournament’s leading scorer, Grant Matchen was second and Lance Thompson placed fourth.

"Great American Cleanup" Winner

The Johnston County Chamber of Commerce and Tishomingo Development Team received a trophy from the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Foundation for winning the "Great American Cleanup Oklahoma Department of Transportation Trash-Off."


A dedicated team of 50 volunteers that included several Murray State students collected 35 bags of litter while clearing seven miles of space in Tishomingo. In the process, two new green spaces were created.


This was the first time participating in the Great American Cleanup.

"Rural Landscapes" Art Reception

Paul Walsh visited the Murray State College Ardmore campus to discuss his "rural landscapes" art. More than 60 people attended the event.

Tishomingo Christmas Parade

Murray State celebrated the Grand Ole Opry and won first place in the Tishomingo Christmas parade. Some Murray State students “performed” for the community and students handed out candy along the parade route.

Vet Nursing Santa Night

Murray State's Vet Nursing held their annual "Santa Night" fundraiser on Thursday. More than 150 children enjoyed taking pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

"A Night with Santa"

Santa also made an appearance in Ardmore at the Murray Event Center this week. Kids of all ages came to see Santa, eat cookies and enjoy hot chocolate. They also received an ornament.

Women's Basketball Defeats

Southwestern Christian JV

The Murray State College Women's Basketball Team picked up a road victory over the Southwestern Christian University JV Team on Thursday, 69-54. With the win, the Lady Aggies are 8-2 on the season.
