Veterans Day Recognition

For his outstanding service and dedication to our country, Murray State College proudly recognized Murray alum Rear Admiral Wesley V. Hull at the home basketball game on Nov. 13 and the next day during an interview with President Faltyn

Murray State Bass Fishing Team Wins JUCO Nationals

The Murray State College Bass Fishing team took the top three honors at the 2024 JUCO National Championship at Lake Eufaula.


Sam Sutter and Shaden Farley won the tournament. Hunter Russell and Sam Ausbrooks placed second, and Cade Smith and Axel Pierce placed third.


Pakanli Brock won the women's championship.

Murray Cross Country Competes in Nationals

The Murray State Cross Country team wrapped up its inaugural season with several solid performances in the NJCAA National Cross Country Championships. Coach Justin Wagner's squad took 34th in the team standings of the women's division, while the Aggie men wrapped up in 36th place.

President Dr. Tim Faltyn visited the men's and women's cross country teams in Richmond, Virginia, to cheer them on and show support for their hard work and accomplishments.

Men's Soccer Competes in National Tournament

The Aggies made the national tournament for the second straight year. They battled against a couple of the nation's best but came up a goal short in each match.

The Murray State College Men's Soccer Team had a historic season this year as the Aggies compiled an 18-2-1 record.

Murray State and SouthernTech Sign MOU

Murray State College and SouthernTech signed an MOU to create a pathway from the SouthernTech biotechnology program to the Murray State Science Program Biotechnology Option.

Murray State College President Dr. Tim Faltyn, SouthernTech Superintendent Dr. Eric Ward and SouthernTech biotechnology program students.

SouthernTech Biotechnology student Presley Blankenship shared how this collaboration will allow her to attend college.

Veterans Appreciation Week

In celebration of our veterans, Murray State's student affairs team and Great Western Dining provided a complimentary lunch for veteran students, faculty and staff.


Murray State students, faculty, and staff also participated in Ardmore's annual Veterans Day parade to show their support for our troops.

Oklahoma Wrestling Releases Article Highlighting Growth at Murray State College

Seth Duckworth with Oklahoma Wrestling released an article highlighting the men's and women's wrestling programs that are being added to the roster of competitive teams at Murray State College in Fall 2025.

Junior/Senior Preview Day

Murray State College hosted high school juniors and seniors. This event allowed them to explore, connect, and see what Murray State College is all about.

First-Gen Day Celebration

Murray State College celebrated all of the first-generation students as they reach their goal of a college education

Murray State President Dr. Faltyn shared some encouraging words as students think about their futures. Dr. Faltyn is also a first-generation college student.

Miss Oklahoma, Lauren Frost, a first-generation college student herself, visited Murray State as a guest speaker and shared an empowering message with our students about the power of perseverance and the importance of achieving their goals.


Native American Day - Murray In Ardmore

Murray State College Ardmore celebrated Native American Month. Chickasaw storyteller Cheyenne Durant used a rain stick and an empty water bottle for sound effects to tell stories of the Chickasaw Nation's beginning. Choctaw artists Candace Shanholtzer and Nancy Rhoades, whose work is currently on exhibit, were on hand to talk with students about their art. Great Western Dining made Indian tacos. Murray State's security guard Tony Marris made pasha, a Choctaw delicacy.

Musical Theatre Ensemble Final Project

Murray State's Musical Theater Ensemble students presented their end-of-semester final project performances. These performances were free to the public and allowed our students to showcase their skills to the community.

FBLA Members Donate Canned Goods

Murray State FBLA Members dropped off 1,424 pounds of canned goods at the South Central Oklahoma Food and Resource Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Pecan Festival Tuition Waiver Winners

At the 2nd Annual Oklahoma Pecan Festival, the following high school FFA students were awarded one-time tuition waivers for their outstanding achievements.


1st Place, $1,500 Tuition Waiver: Paityn Seiger, Bethel FFA

2nd Place, $1,000 Tuition Waiver: Breckyn Scruggs, Dickson FFA

3rd Place, $750 Tuition Waiver: Marleigh Rodriguez, Alec FFA

PSP Bingo

Murray State's President's Scholars Program hosted a bingo fundraiser to support Angel Tree gifts. This year, they provided gifts for 10 families.

Ardmore Family Literacy Spelling Bee Fundraiser

Ardmore Family Literacy Hosted its first-ever Spelling Bee Fundraiser at the Murray Event Center. Community members and organizations competed to raise money for a great cause.

BancFirst Student Board

Murray State College hosted BancFirst and their student board on the Ardmore campus for a lunch and learn session. Murray State College Registrar Cali Grimmett talked with the students about finances, college tuition and financial aid.

Chickasaw Nation's Define Your Direction hosted a craft day in the library on the Tishomingo campus.

Basketball Teams Off to Quick Start

The Murray State College Men's and Women's Basketball teams have already accumulated six wins each this season. The Lady Aggies are 6-1, while the men's basketball team is 6-2.

Future Aggie of the Month

November's Future Aggie of the Month is Tinley White, a student at Tishomingo Elementary.
