Catch up on what's happening at Murray State!

The Murray State College Academic Team traveled to Chicago, Illinois, to compete in the Community College Championship Tournament (CCCT.)

The A-Team will compete at the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) in April.

Kanyon Beck, William Day and Rae Prince received All Star Awards.

The A-Team finished 2nd with a record of 10-2. Members were Captain Kanyon Beck, Colton Criner, Natalie Gehring and Grant Matchen.

The B-Team placed 4th. Its members were Captain Rae Prince, Sam Beshear, Brooklyn Pritchard and Camrun Scott.

The C-Team placed 7th. Members were Captain Dalton Elmer, Dakota Buford, William Day, Dillon Simpson and Kenneth Welch.

Murray State College awarded a $2,000 tuition waiver (for up to two years) to the champion senior showman in cattle, goats, sheep and swine. Below are this year's recipients.

Goats: Hunter Bazzrea, Dickson.

Brandt Allen accepted the award on behalf of Hunter who was unavailable due to a scheduling conflict.

Sheep: Riley Tiner, Wilson

Swine: Abby Porterfield, Lone Grove

Cattle: Abby Helmke, Fox

Murray State College's Student Nursing Club hosted its Annual Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser on the Ardmore and Tishomingo campuses. This event brought together students, faculty, staff and community members to raise funds for the club.

Murray State College's international students attended the International Student Recognition Day at the State Capitol. The event provided an opportunity to meet with Oklahoma State Representatives, enjoy lunch, connect with international students from other Oklahoma colleges and universities, and receive recognition from the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

Murray State College faculty, staff and guests recently attended the 11th Annual Precious Pearls Debutante Scholarship Ball in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

This event raises funds to provide scholarships for young women upon their high school graduation, helping to support their pursuit of higher education.

Murray State College's Student Life organized the Flannel Fling. Students enjoyed various activities, including playing games, roasting s'mores, listening to music and socializing with their peers.

Murray State Softball Player Cady Ammons was named the Region 2 Player of the Week.

The Lady Aggies are undefeated this season with a record of 20-0 after winning their last four games, including a victory over No. 9 Kirkwood Community College.

Murray State College Men's Basketball Player Elijah Tshibangu was named the Region 2 Player of the Week. He is a freshman from Belgium.

For the second time this season, Murray State College Women's Basketball player Ongolea Afu was named the Region 2 Player of the Week.

The No. 19 Murray State College Women's Basketball Team went 2-0 this week to push their win streak to 8 games.

The Murray State College Men's Golf Team is ranked No. 5 in the latest NJCAA DII Rankings, while the Lady Aggies are ranked No. 7.
