1964-1965 Men's Basketball Players Honored

Shannon Sexson, Alvie Nelson and Wayne Williamson were honored during halftime of the men's basketball game.


They were players on the 1964-1965 Murray State College Men's Basketball Team that participated in the national tournament. They achieved a record of 21-4 and finished 9th in the national standings, boasting the 6th-ranked defense in the nation.

Their coach was the legendary Gene Robbins, after whom Murray State's gym floor inside the fieldhouse is named.

Before attending Murray State College, Shannon graduated from Mannsville High School, Alvie graduated from Grant High School and Wayne graduated from Idabel High School.

SHOT Show 2025

Murray State College Gunsmithing students, faculty, staff and President Dr. Tim Faltyn attended the 2025 SHOT show in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event allowed students to network with industry professionals and gain firsthand knowledge of the latest technologies and trends shaping the firearms and outdoor industries.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade & Celebration

Murray State students, faculty and staff participated in the HFV Wilson's Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade and celebration. Quinton Jones, Murray State College Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, was the guest speaker at the celebration.

Valero Job Workshop

Murray State College in Ardmore hosted Valero for a job workshop, allowing people interested in working there to learn about the company's offerings.

Afu Named Region Player of the Week

Murray State College women’s basketball player Ongolea Afu was named the Region 2 Women's Basketball Player of the Week.


Afu is averaging 15.5 points per game and 14.5 rebounds per game in conference play this season.

Lady Aggies Ranked No. 20

The Murray State College Women’s Basketball Team is ranked No. 20 in the latest NJCAA DI Women's Basketball Poll.


The Lady Aggies are off to a 15-2 start to the season and 5-0 record in conference play.

Aggies Receiving Votes in Top 25

For the third consecutive poll, the Murray State College Men’s Basketball Team is receiving votes in the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Rankings.


The Aggies are off to a 15-3 start to the season and 4-1 record in Region 2 play.
