Murray State Cross Country Team Qualifies for Nationals

The Murray State College Cross Country Team set 10 new personal records. Zoë Jones beat the Murray State College 5K program record again with an 8th-place finish.

The men finished 3rd in the region and the women finished 4th.

The team will travel to Richmond, Virginia, on November 9, to compete at nationals.

Murray State College Board of Regents Meeting

Murray State College Board of Regents held their October meeting last week. Murray's OACC Faculty, Staff and Support Staff of the Year were recognized at the dinner.

The Oklahoman Recognizes Murray State for Longest Parental Leave Policy

Murray State College was recognized for having the longest leave policy in Oklahoma, offering eight weeks of maternal leave and four weeks of paternal leave.

2024 Southwest Veterinary Symposium

Murray State College Veterinary Nursing faculty and students had the opportunity to assist in preparing and facilitating the interactive labs at the Southwest Veterinary Symposium. Through this experience, the students develop valuable skills and work ethic that will benefit them throughout their careers.

Murray State President Dr. Faltyn discussed the importance of partnerships and the projects that lie ahead on the Ardmore campus.

Murray State PSP Students Take Annual Trip

Murray State's President's Scholars Program (PSP) students recently took an education trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, for an immersive experience focused on the impact of artificial intelligence across various industries, such as science, technology and education.

They visited the Catawba Science Center AI exhibit, engaged with Dr. Tara Cavalline at UNC Charlotte, and toured the BATT CAVE lab, gaining insight into current AI research. The trip emphasized experimental learning, with students and sponsors participating in discussions and reflections on AI's future implications.

Murray State College SGA Attends President's Retreat

Murray State College's Government Instructor Dr. Adam Bilinski, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Quinton Jones, and Murray's Student Government Association members attended the Oklahoma Student Government Association's President's Retreat. This event promotes student networking and leadership development.

Take Two Academy

Malaika Horton, Murray State College's Dean of Nursing, visited with three students from Take Two Academy, providing information about Murray State's nursing program and answering any questions the students had about becoming Aggies.

Murray State College Fall Festival

Approximately 15 Murray State clubs and organizations provided games at the annual fall festival, which is open to the community each year.

ACES Staff Tours Gunsmithing Building

Rob Wilcox, with the ACES program at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, visited the Tishomingo campus this week for an in-depth tour of the gunsmithing building.

Oklahoma College Bass Championship

The No. 24 Murray State College Bass Fishing Team dominated the Oklahoma College Bass Championship by winning the tournament and claiming the top 3 spots in the field of 24 two-person teams. Hunter Miller/Axel Pierce won the tournament, Braden Lankford/Tityn Miller earned second place, and Carson Owen/Dylan Reed grabbed a third-place finish.

The success didn't stop with those three teams, as two more Murray State College duos finished inside the Top 10. Cade Smith/Dayla Connors and Hunter Alsip/Brad Gooch claimed eighth and ninth place, respectively.

Rodeo Team Members Win at OSU Stampede

Murray State Aggie Dalton O'Steen and his partner LJ Yeahquo of NWOSU won the OSU Stampede Rodeo Teamroping Championship.

KK Smith won the OSU Stampede Rodeo Breakaway Championship.

Murray State Livestock Show Team Member Places at American Royal

Murray State College Livestock Show Team Member Kirsten Walck won Reserve Champion Market Lamb at the American Royal livestock show.

The show is one of the country's most prestigious major livestock shows.

Buck Cattle Company Contest

The Murray State College Livestock Judging Team took top honors at the Buck Cattle Company Livestock Judging Contest.

Men's Soccer Sets Program Record and Earns Top Seed

The No. 9 Murray State College Men's Soccer Team dominated Austin College to conclude the regular season with 15 wins, the most in a single season. The Aggies (15-1) will now set their sights on the Region 2 Tournament with their first match in the semifinals on Nov. 1.

Golf Rankings

The Murray State College Men's Golf Team held the No. 3 ranking in this week's NJCAA Division II Coaches Poll.

The Murray State College Women's Golf Team is ranked No. 6 in the NJCAA Division II Coaches Poll.

Women's Golf Concludes Season

The Murray State College Women's Golf Team concluded their season with a strong showing at the Atomic City Classic in Tennessee. The Lady Aggies continued to grow, highlighted by Gabby Hack finishing in the No. 11 spot and Madison Caldwell recording her first career best round.

Women's Soccer Concludes Regular Season

The Lady Aggies concluded the regular season with a 9-5-3 record. They will compete in the Region 2 Tournament on Oct. 31 in Enid, Oklahoma.

Future Aggie on the Month

October's Future Aggie of the Month is Taygen Hodge, a fifth-grade student from Tishomingo. The award was presented by Claycey Rowland, a member of the Murray State Livestock Judging Team, and Jazmine Cookson, a member of the Murray State College Softball Team.
