Murray State Bass Fishing Team Wins Regionals

Murray State's Bass Fishing Team took over the state's regional tournament with a champion and third place finish.


Winning the tournament was duo Alan Knight and Shaden Farley. Placing third was Braden Lankford and Sam Sutter

47th Annual Scholastic Invitational

Approximately 1,000 students from 53 schools visited Murray State for the College's annual scholastic invitational. With the largest attendance thus far, teams competed in events ranging in various topics of math, science, English, history and art.

The schools were broken into four divisions.

The Top 5 schools in each division were:

Division 1: Plainview, Sulphur, Lone Grove, Pauls Valley and Dickson

Division 2: Davis, Silo, Vanoss, Stratford and Coalgate

Division 3: Rock Creek, Tushka, Wilson and Bennington (only four schools in the division.)

Division 4: Stuart, Fort Towson, Spring, Coleman and Thackerville

Murray State College President Dr. Tim Faltyn welcomed the high school counselors, teachers and staff while the students began their contests.

During down time between their contests, students gathered around the Sunken Gardens, playing games, hanging out and studying.

Ardmore Day at the Capitol

Murray State College Ardmore VP Ginger Cothran and Murray State Ardmore Community Outreach Coordinator Kelly Garrett traveled to the state capitol with Ardmore Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership this week to learn about our state’s government process.

Jill Daugherty organized the event with speakers such as Attorney General Gentner Drummond, Representatives Tammy Townley and Josh Cantrell, and Senator Jerry Alvord. Other speakers were lobbyists, LOFT (Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency) and the State Election Board

A State MOU to Address Nursing Shortage

To address the state's nursing shortage, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish guidelines for public two-year colleges to award students credit for prior learning in practical nursing programs at technology centers across the state.


Murray State College Vice President of Business Affairs Justin Cellum was in attendance during the signing.

Beehive, The 60s Musical

The Ardmore Little Theatre and Murray State College Performing Arts performed the 60s musical Beehive.


The musical is a song revue celebrating the songs, musicians and events of the most transformative time in history, the 1960s.

Veterinary Nursing Visits National Fish Hatchery

Murray State College Veterinary Nursing sophomores visited the Tishomingo National Fish Hatchery.


They learned about the Alligator Snapping Turtle program, as well as other aquatic species that are in decline, at risk and are important to the health of our aquatic systems.

Aggies Advance to Region 2 Semifinals

The No. 3 Murray State Men's Basketball Team defeated No. 6 NOC-Tonkawa in the NJCAA Region 2 Quarterfinals on Thursday, 81-58.


With the win, the Aggies will advanced to the semifinals of the Region 2 Tournament. Murray State battled No. 2 NEO on Friday night, but fell to the Norseman to conclude the 2023-24 season for the Aggies.

Lady Aggies Fall in Region 2 Quarterfinals

The No. 8 Murray State Women's Basketball Team's season came to an end in the Region 2 Quarterfinals. The Lady Aggies gave No. 1 Connors State College all they could handle, but Murray State came up a little short, 89-82.

Basketball Earns All-Region Honors

Isaiah Lewis was tabbed Region 2 Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Region Team, while Austin was named Honorable Mention All-Region.

Sosefina Langi was named to the Region 2 Second Team.

Softball Receives Region 2 Weekly Awards

Congratulations to Dara Hamlin on being named the Region 2 Pitcher of the Week! The freshman was dominant in the sweep of National Park College!

Congratulations to Haili Igou on being named the Region 2 Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks! The freshman hit 4 home runs in 4 consecutive plate appearances to lead the Lady Aggies to a sweep of National Park College.

Softball goes 5-1 on the Week

The Murray State College Softball Team split with No. 7 Kirkwood Community College before sweeping Carl Albert State College.


The Lady Aggies continued their winning ways against SAU Tech as they took care of the Rockets, 22-1 and 18-1.

Baseball Sweeps Brookhaven

The Murray State College Baseball Team swept Brookhaven College this week.


The Aggies dropped a few games against NOC-Enid this weekend, but they travel to Redlands Community College on Thursday.
