Cothran Receives Heart of Conservation Award

Brian Cothran, Murray State College Dean of the School of Agriculture, Business and Occupational Technology, receives the Heart of Conservation Award for Excellence in the field of natural resources for his work with Murray State's Climate-Smart Grant Program.

Shauni Kimbro, Program Coordinator, and Che Deer, Small Farms and Urban Horticultural Systems Instructor, also play a vital role in the program.

In partnership with the Chickasaw Nation's Office of Natural Resources, Murray State College will provide training to rural, underserved students to become verified and/or engaged in sustainable farming practices

Murray State College President Faltyn, faculty and students met with various companies within the firearms industry earlier this week.

General Brent Wright, Former Chief of Staff for the Oklahoma Air National Guard, and Rob Cox, Oklahoma Department of Commerce team up with Murray State College's Gunsmithing Department, represented by Jordyn Frazier and Darrell Riley.

President Faltyn attended the Midway USA Foundation reception at the SHOT Show on Wednesday. He is pictured with Larry Potterfield, the Foundation's founder.

Legislative Tour

Murray State College students and staff were joined by Senator Jerry Alvord, and Representatives Tammy Townley and Josh Cantrell, and Regent Ann Holloway for a Legislative Tour on Friday.

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Chancellor Allison Garrett covered the legislative agenda and appropriations requests.

NAQT Sectionals

The Murray State College Academic A Team placed second and Murray's B Team came in third at NAQT Sectionals. Kanyon Beck was the tournament’s high scorer.

The A Team claimed the No. 2 seed for the Community College National Championship Tournament, while the Murray State B Team earned the No. 7 seed.

Softball No. 11 in Preseason Poll

The Murray State College Softball Team is ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA DII Pre-season Poll, which was released by the national office this week.

The Lady Aggies begin their season at home against Western Texas College on Feb. 2.

Baseball Receiving Votes in Preseason Poll

The Murray State College Baseball Team is receiving votes in the NJCAA DII Pre-season Poll.

The baseball season is quickly approaching as the Aggies begin their season on the road against Grayson County College on Feb. 2.

Aggies Improve to 3-0 in Region Play

The Murray State College Men's Basketball Team picked up a 94-83 road victory over Redlands Community College on Thursday.

The Aggies are now 3-0 in league play.
